He was never supposed to be the main villain, and to be fair he was a bit more interesting than villains like malakieth or Ronan. But can we take a moment to talk about how 3-dimensional Zemo was as an antagonist? We haven't got a MCU Film villain that complex since Loki

Taskmaster is my favorite from this list. i like playing as him in Marvel vs. Capcom 3. He needs to be in a movie.

Joseph Moore I said, "I think," so it would imply that it could be cool if it were to happen. I'm well aware of how film studios hold characters hostage for the sake of profit than storytelling. Such as, How could the Avengers be assembled and not be able to fight Dr. Doom? That villain is a no brainer.

+Komixer PL actually no, he´s only considered not that interesting by many. wich is a shame because it lead marvel´s german division to give the captain america movies pretty stupid titles. for example: none of the sequels have the name "captain america" in the title, he´s only refered as "the first avenger". and it drives me nuts every time i read that titles!

Komixer PL To be fair, it´s only 3 1/2 out of 15, perhabs5 1/2 if Faustus and Viper are German, not sure on these two. We have Red Skull, Baron Zemo, Baron von Strucker and Sin as half German, i think her mother was from somewhere else. Most of the rest are actually American. But i get your point, It´s always sad for me that there are only two German heroes i know, being Nightcrawler and Maverick, pretty much every other German in comics is a nazi.

baron zemo is probably my favorite cap villain, while red skull is a mastermind, zemo is that and more active in the field, i really think the greatest enemy is one that can match you in brains and brawns

Baron Blood deserves at least an honorable mention for the simple fact that he is the only super villain Cap has killed on purpose. He killed Baron Zemo but it was the result of a bullet ricocheting off of Cap's shield so really Zemo killed himself. Baron Blood however was beheaded by Cap using his shield to decapitate the vampire.

I agree. Baron Blood is also one one of Cap's oldest villains too. The Baron has also fought the Union Jack which also makes things interesting.

The Captain America of the 1950s is missing from the list. In addition, there are two Baron Zemo. The father, who killed Bucky Barnes, and the son. I do not believe that U.S.Agent is the enemy of Captain America. He's a rival.

I agree about both the 50s Captain America and the U.S. Agent. Sure, the U.S. Agent had killed some people and been involved with some controversial activities but, they only fought twice. Once it was over the Buckys doing bad stuff. The second time it was all a big misunderstanding caused by the Red Skull.

***** All great! But why Captain Cold before Grodd is my little peeve, I mean, Grodd hates The Flash with a passion and has super-strength and telepathy to back it up. Captain Cold treats his rivalry with The Flash like a job and uses his Cold Guns for petty crimes like robbing banks, but to each their own opinion. Just so you know, not bashing your opinion, but if you could, please tell me why Cold is above Grodd.

Baron Zemo (Helmut Zemo) is my favourite Captain America villain. He fooled the public while running the Thunderbolts and exposed Bucky Barns to the public as the winter solider while Bucky while the new Captain America.

Captain America is only as popular today because of Ed Brubaker. What he did with Cap put him on the map for years to come. Recreating old foes, putting "campy" foes into a new light and revitalizing the series and character as a whole. He IS the Man responsible for The Winter Soldier and the Death of Captain America.

Kingpin fights a lot of people and he is considered a villain of Spidetman, Daredevil, and Punisher. I don't see why there's a reason to complain about a villain fighting multiple heroes.

Everything the MCU got wrong about these villains: 1) Baron Von Strucker was the founder of Hydra, not Red Skull; 2) Baron Zemo was the one that caused Captain America to end up stuck in ice for decades, not Red Skull; 3) Winter Soldier was a secret agent for URSS, Hydra had nothing to do with him; plus, he was part of the Black Widow program (he was used to "train" Black Widows) 4) Cross Bones was not am Agent of Shield 5) Task Master... well in the MCU had absolutely nothing to do with the Task Master from the comics 6) Red Skull in the comics was never a German super soldier, but a simple Nazi agent that used to wear a mask; only in the last 10/20 years he had been given supersoldier like powers. Plus, he was mostly involved with AIM rather Hydra

To those who don't know or only follow the MCU movies but not the MCU ABC and Netflix shows, Madame Hydra appears in Agents of SHIELD Season 4, and Doctor Faustus appeared in Season 1 of Agent Carter.

Cap's my favorite superhero, so I'm glad to see a list of his best villains. The only time I can recall Batroc really being a threat was in the 'Captain America: Winter Soldier' movie. As I recall, in the comics, he often comes across as kind of a joke, between his flamboyant style and his ridiculous accent (i.e. in the comics, he often pronounces his title as "Zee Leepair"; I don't think even REAL French people talk that way). I was really impressed at how well they used Arnim Zola in the movies, especially 'Winter Soldier.' It would have been easy to make Zola rather ridiculous in a live- action movie, but they pulled it off great, between the writing and the actor's performance. I think Crossbones and Sin should share the #3 spot, they're at their deadliest when they're together. #1 was no surprise. Not only is he Cap's greatest foe, I'd consider him one of the greatest supervillains in general. One villain that wasn't seen here but that I'd add to my list would be a relatively new Cap- villain: Dr. Mindbubble. This psychedelic terrorist was fun to watch/ read about and pretty freaking deadly to boot.

the skull wore a mask until the 80's. Further the skull was like 90 until zola transferred the skull's consciousness into a clone of Captain America. after that, exposure to his death powder (shrinks skin on the head and changes it to red) made him his current body horror condition.

i hope Arnim Zola comes back in civil war and gets a bigger role, just a slight bigger one would be great, like doing something other than a little appearance in the movie, and i really hope baron zemo gets introduced to the MCU, maby sooner or later, but its bound to happen, those 2 were always my favourite cap villains, and make a place in my 10 favourite villains

You should have used the animated version of Red skull better he was much more menacing than the movie version or at least the 1990s Captain America's version, nevertheless it was a good list.

At least to me, Bayroc only became interesting in Gwenpool. That series gave him a personality and didn't use him as a generic villain (in that series though he wasn't really a villain).

The 1st time I heard about captain America was when I saw the first captain America movie the first avenger. I never knew he existed nor did I knew he was from the comic books.
