I got so pissed at the movie when i saw it, i screamed like crazy the moment when i was reading the book and Poseidon recognized him as his son, so when i got this adaptation i was so mad that i wanted to punch the director, cause if your doing an adaptation then stick to the story, you can have a creative license but not change almost every part of the book, the only things they didnt touch were the major facts, the ones that are the base of the book such as Percy being a half blood son of Poseidon or Luke stealing the thunder, but besides that everything is different to the point that is annoying, i was excited when i knew it was getting an adaptation and this is what i got, sorry but this is garbage (I mean, the movie is not bad, if you make me watch the film not knowing that it is based on a book, i will and did find it fun and decent.)

I agree with you. At first I was angry about it because they didn't follow the real plot of the book but my mother explained that when the director bought the title from the author they now have every rights to change the plot of the movie or they could follow it instead. Depends on how they wanna do it. But yeah it results to so much hate because they change the whole story. It's also because they only came for the title in order to make a movie out of it.

There's nothing explicitly mentioned about that. And he is shown to be really good at swordsmanship, annabeth doesnt use swords. Besides he is fighting titans and gods, I doubt this is a question needing answers

Its actually more like a game in the book. He beats clarisse, they win capture the flag. Battles over, then the boss music starts up again, they turn around and a hell hound lunges at percy and shreds his chest. Then he gets in the water, heals and the trident appears.

Yeah, I totally agree. I saw this movie before I even knew the books existed, and I was super surprised to find out he was only 12 in the book. Don't get me wrong, I'm interested to see the more book-loyal Disney+ series they're making, but I still think it makes more sense for him to be 16 than 12. A 12-year old can pull it off in anime, but live action is another story. Literally

nah this scene in the movie is so bad, it doesn't represent who Percy is at all. he's cocky in this scene which makes no sense, and he's meant to fight CLARISSE. it's the whole point of the scene to show who annabeth is, she doesn't fight Percy because there's literally no need for her to, she uses her invisibility cap to try and see how percy would react to the situation of having to fight another camper/and who is godly parent is

Crazy isn’t it, you’d think especially since Rick riorden was directly involved with it. It would’ve been better, but the CGI on the trident looked dog shit, the fight was lacklustre, Percy didn’t even go in the water until AFTER the fight, and the other campers didn’t even kneel down when he got claimed. At least in this version, whilst they may not kneel, they do somewhat show some respect by not challenging Percy as he walks to retrieve the flag
