I know what you are saying about the 4" pots. I am a perpetual propagater so I donate mine to a little nursery that benefits mentally challenged people. I'm having fun and it benefits a good cause

Hello frm a fellow ohioan..just found your channel bcuz I am a new watermelon peperomia mama..I am wantn to repot mine an I'm curious if I can use both a cactus soil an reg potting soil mix to repot? I will use a ratio of more catus soil for good drainage an may throw in some sphagnum peat moss for good measure. Is that ok? I DNT wanna kill the pretty babies. Thanks in advance for any answers or advice you can give. Xoxoxo

Hahaha, it's ok. Definitely mix in something in there to improve drainage...some orchid bark is great, or a nice amount of perlite.

Please help! I just repotted my watermelon pep because I didn’t know what else to do. It looked super sad, droopy, leaves curled. It’s not looking any better after repotting :( Any advice would be greatly appreciated. I love this plant so much and it wasn’t cheap 😬

Hi Ruth! Watermelon peperomia are very sensitive to improper soil moisture. I actually wrote a blog post on these plants. Go ahead and read this blog post and hopefully a light will go off on what you may have done to get the droopy leaves. Is it possible to propagate this plant by root division? I just did it but I didn't research if they do well doing that method :((

Yes, if you have multiple crowns, you can certainly propagate by root division! :-)

I just got one and it came with split and crispy leaves on the edges. Can I do anything in particular to bring mine back?

Hi Sarah! These plants damage very easily, so I'm wondering if it's just physical damage to your plant? They are also sensitive to inconsistent watering. Hi.. thabk you for the information. I am trying to propagate mine. I tried water propagation but all the stem rotted overnight for some reason. Then i tried soil propagation with leaf cutting and they also turned black and soggy in few days. I am not sure what is the issue. Could you help?

I'd have to know more of what you did, but if you do soil propagation, it helps to have a half/half blend of soil and perlite. It will keep the soil moist but introduce some air to minimize rotting. Try that next time!

Beautiful plant!🪴 I recently got one but it hasn’t been doing real good. What kind of light do they like?

Thanks! If you have a window with no direct sun, they will do fine right in front of it. Or an Eastern or Western facing window with some direct sun will work too. They just don't want to be in direct sun all day.
