The sad part is that once he’s down, the agency that has custody of him is responsible for his safety. If he gets jumped, he’s gonna get a BIG paycheck from the taxpayers. Derek Chauvin, we all know what just happened to him. People wanna think that karma caught up to him; NO, he’s got money on his books and money for his family for the rest of their lives. (Or he will have after he sues the institution). If he gets jumped again, it’ll be even MORE money since he’s been established as a target and if the custodian doesn’t keep him safe, that’s recidivist, or deliberate indifference/ aka big payday. It would not surprise me for him to put out a hit on himself. He’s got a lot of fines and restitution to come up with. One carefully crafted “shanking” can take care of all of it.

@tompinkerton1106 In all fairness to the judge, when you consider the charges(theft by deception), and his past service to the community, his bail is actually high. Also, you have to consider the level of the charges(mostly level 5 and 6 felonies) are, his are on the low felony level. None of his involve a specific victim, it's the county. My question is, HTF does he own a plane on a Sheriff's salary??? If he got a plane throw his crimes, these charges should be higher levels.

How do you allow a former chief Sheriff who is allegedly corrupt out on a bail?
@BlackKnight_7559 ай бұрын
I don't know which state you are from but in Georgia, every person who is charged with a crime MUST go before the court to be CONSIDERED for a bond. They may not actually receive a bond but they must be considered. In my county, I have seen 3 different people charged with murder who received a bond. Just because a person is CHARGED doesn't mean they are guilty of the crime. To further answer your question and comment on it, he is ONLY allegedly corrupt (your statement) until proven guilty hence the bond especially after his past has been clean with no prior charges other than an old traffic charge.
@Hoosier819 ай бұрын
Bc you’re innocent until proven guilty. Read your constitution
@constancetaite10439 ай бұрын
The purpose of bail is to ensure defendant will appear for court; it has nothing to do with guilt. If he has ties to the community, e.g., family, a home, etc., then he’s a low risk for absconding.

He should be held to a higher standard quite frankly - utterly appalling to give this thug any bail.
@bobbybishop56629 ай бұрын
The judge has guidelines to follow on bond . He's not charged with a violent crime , the prosecutor didn't present any real evidence he was a flight risk. He has the same civil rights to due process as any other citizen. Just the way it is.
@Guadguacdoosh9 ай бұрын
Um, he's not violent
@brittanylevinson7419 ай бұрын
Having a non-violent subject sit in pre-adjudication confinement is ridiculous. Confinement should be reserved for those who are a risk to their community and those who are a flight risk. Should he be convicted, then he will pay his debt to society by way of imprisonment. Until then, due process is the way it ought to be for every defendant whether an accused murderer or this type of corruption. Not to mention it takes a lot more resources to confine someone who is prior law enforcement and places undo strain on the jail and staff. Most people get a bond because locking someone up who hasn’t committed a violent crime is against the very our justice system works.

So the Sheriff likes cars huh. Nice cars non the less. Problem is he likes to take them from other people and sell them for his own gain. He also likes to use the peoples money to pay for his own security needs. I guess when your doing nefarious things, you need to make sure nobody will snoop around any properties your affilated with. THey need to look hard into every vehicle that he impounded and the outcome of said vehicles. REMEMBER EVERYONE, THIS IS ONLY WHAT HE GOT CAUGHT DOING!! NO BOND, he will surely use that time to cover up any doings that have not yet discovered. If bonded, 24 seven surveillance of every phone car and every conversation with anyone outside of the home. I'm guessing the 4 chicks behind him are family members. THey sure did alot of smurking during the prosecutors bond wishes. And judging by the way they are all dressed and kept, they have helped spend alot of the money he "Allegedly" STOLE!

Omg his lawyer is as slimy as the piggy sitting in chains beside him. This lawyer truly thinks he is all that - an awful lot of bluster for nothing - the piggy deserves to be on a monitor or daily visits to probation due to the fact that he is a criminal minus his badge now - he deserves the book to be thrown at him as far as any bail conditions. The clown show this lawyer put on would be better served in the amatuer dramatics society in a crappy town hall - the theatrics of this lawyer should be reeled in by this judge far more severely- he seems to think he is all that but I ain't buying what this snakeoil salesman is trying to sell.

They basically made a nice beautiful file on this sheriff and then turn it over to the federal government. They never thought, I never thought, and I'm sure their viewers never thought to stay whatever come but it came and it is glorious

@acefromspace27278 ай бұрын
Why would you complicate the case by making it a RICO? If they have the Sheriff caught red handed that is all you need to prove the charges. RICO is when you don't have enough on the head guy, so you have to make it a RICO to charge him with the criminal acts committed by those underneath him. Also, RICO is usually Federal. This is clearly in state court.
