So I just realized that when you try to record audio, you have to be able to click the stop button on time for it to stop recording (which is impossible if you're recording drums or guitar) otherwise the clip will end up being too long and you will have to edit it for it to loop properly. Isn't there a way to pre determine the lenght of the clip you're about to record in a given slot? Otherwise, it's just not possible to perform 'live' looping, because you have to edit everything you record.

You can certainly set your loop points when recording.

yeah, i agree. i haven't been able (yet?) to find a reasonable workflow for recording and building up loops (in either audio or midi) that doesnt require a lot of messing around. eg. i cant find a way to overdub midi (or audio) into an existing clip. I dont want to rely on hitting record/stop at the right times as i often dont have a spare hand. I love that the clip launch feature has been added but i honestly cant find a good way to record with it right now. I think its likely far easier just to loop record in the arranger view (with eg. overdub, comping features all working) then drag the results back into the clip launcher grid. But that definitely ruins the "live looping" feel!

@@TracktionSoftware I think I need help with that. I know how to set loop points on the timeline for loop recording and playback, but even if I do this, it doesnt seem to work. For example, if I set the loop points to a 2 bar lenght, then I click the record button of a slot, isn't the recording supposed to stop after 2 bars?

@@Grayfinstudios yeah I feel the same way. It's a really nice feature and maybe it will just take some time to really learn how to use it the best way. But I think it would be super cool if @tracktionsoftware did a couple more tutorial videos about that!

So does the clip launcher thingy work like the main screen on FL studio where you arrange your recordings n stuff?

There are some similarities. It's a little closer to the clip launch workflows of Live/Bitwig.

Is Waveform still full of bugs ? I made a 1 bar long step clip with a kick note on each quarter note. When I looped the clip, sometimes, the notes were randomly muted, I checked the probability parameter : 100 % ??? I wanted to delete a midi clip on the arranger, no way, even with the delete menu after selecting the clip or backspace.

@@TracktionSoftware I downloaded the latest version and the bug is still here. If I play a drum loop in a drum pattern, note and note played every other loop with microtonic plugin. If I wrap this plug in, the bug disappers ! Also on a random basis, Waveform freezes when I delete a plug in the wrap window and must restart Waveform.

can you define the lenght of the clip before recording ???

Absolutely. You can drag an empty audio clip into the launcher and set its length etc there.

I want to try the new CLIP LAUNCHER but it doesn't appear in the waveform 13 demo!!! . How do you want me to buy something if you don't let me try it for 30 days? Very badly...
