I tend to stand close to the air vent when diffusing to stay cool. LOVE the alligator clip idea, never saw that one done before. Treluxe has fast become my go to for styling. My hair loves the leave in. Acts like a cream for me & the gel is amazing! Beautiful hair as usual! Tfs! Blessings!

I diffuse under the ceiling fan. So basically if I’m drying my hair, either way I’m under the fan. Lol. I’m glad you found a new technique to try! Treluxe gel is sooooo good! It’s magic in a tub! Thank you and thank you for watching!

Hah, this was the next question on my list! It sounds like it's worth diffusing even for a couple of minutes when you can stand it, just to reduce total wet time and get the cast going. In the summer, going for a walk in the sun helps my dry time, but that's only an option if it's not windy, and may not be as effective on lighter chair colors. (And definitely use a UV protectant!) If you're considering topic requests for videos, I'd love to hear more about how different products, ingredients, and techniques affect drying time. When I started wavy styling my hair, I was SHOCKED at how long it took to dry, both air drying and diffusing. It's hard to tell how much of that comes from clump size, damp vs. wet styling, or products. I've also seen some products that claim to reduce drying time, but I don't know what the mechanism would be, or whether that applies only to blow drying vs. air drying.

Great video! I usually diffuse my hair, but the root clipping tips were super helpful whether you diffuse or air dry.

This is a wonderfully informative video that could not have come at a more perfect time! I live in Alabama and idk if you have been here but girl it is HOTT in July, August & September. I would rather die than turn on a hair dryer. I only have like 7 hairs on my head but for some reason they take a million years to air dry and look completely awful. So I'm excited to wash my hair and incorporate some of these tips to hopefully make a difference. I firmly believe that you have been kissed by the hair gods because no matter what you do you always look fabulous! Thank you so much for all of your help and I can't wait to see another video!

I’m so glad this was perfect timing! I’ve been to Alabama in August, near Birmingham. The 30 minute drive in a car without AC from the airport to where I was going nearly killed me. It. Was. Disgusting! So hot, so humid. I basically stayed inside and any time I had to leave the AC, I whined about it. I was an over dramatic brat and couldn’t wait to leave! I definitely didn’t blow dry my hair there. The wet hair kept me cool, kinda. Lol And thank you, I can’t take much credit for my hair. My parents both have amazing heads of hair! Neither of them do much at all to care for it and they both have thick, shiny healthy hair in their 70s! I’m just the combination of the two. 😊Hopefully these tips help! Thank you so much for watching and commenting!

Where I live, the summers are very hot and dry. Because of the heat, there are ceiling fans and box fans in every room. That helps speed up the drying process on the rare occasion I air dry. My hair is high density and very coarse. It takes about two hours to air dry.

Ohhh I've been waiting for this. Thank you so much for air drying for us!! I can diffuse in the winter and like it but in the summer with a heatwave? Heck no!! Like you said, sitting under or next to the fan helps with the volume and body (but yes, I do end up looking like a puffy cloud sometimes) and it does help with the drying time.

You’re welcome! Hopefully you found it helpful! I don’t think I could deal with air drying without sitting under a fan! Thank you for watching!

I can relate to air-drying my hair all the time! My hair was very frizzy and dry. It behaved like high porosity hair would. I couldn't keep my hair moisturized or defined. I have since begun to diffuse at the start of my drying time. It has helped so much! I don't diffuse for very long, maybe 40% dry. Something like that. Love root clipping!

Yes, that’s exactly what happens over time! I diffuse and air dry too. I diffuse until I get bored (anywhere from 60-90% dry depending on my patience level that day) and air dry the rest of the way. Lol. I don’t really root clip that often, but I’m thinking I should! Thank you for watching!

When I air dried - which was the vast majority of my life - even my lower density hair took all day to fully dry. In HS I'd wash my hair before going to school & go with wet hair. By the heat period of the day, the underneath layers, especially towards the roots were still pretty damp. Plus when I used to wash before bed but not diffuse, I'd wake up to wet hair🤦🏽‍♀️ I can attest to the fact that air drying isn't better. Years of wet hair, washing every day & air drying caused SO MUCH damage! Once I started sleeping on it, I really killed that underneath layer! Hygral fatigue is no joke, it's been a couple yrs and lots of trims, but I still have a bit of damage from it underneath. The hair in back underneath became almost like cotton candy. If you patted your hand on it, it felt fluffy like a cloud of loose, raw cotton. It never seemed 100% dry desire the fluff feel. But if I tried to separate the fluff, it was matted & stuck together. Sometimes when I washed my hair, hairs would just sort of melt. Mostly I'm just struggling with massive different lengths back there. Certain spots actually curl now, mostly it's wavy though. But now the waves look nicer, rather than bent at odd angles amidst tufts of hair. I warn people about it all the time. It annoys me when content creators are like "ooh! I'm in hygral fatigue, hehehe! I used a lot of moisturizing products the last couple weeks, watch me 'fix' my hygral fatigue with this protein treatment!" Ha! Yeah right

I used to air dry too. In high school mostly but not since cosmetology school. Wet hair all day every day since I washed daily too! Yuck! I’m glad your hair has recovered. I’m with you on people saying they have hygral fatigue and fix it with protein. Nnnnope! It’s just overconditioned. Thank you for watching!

You ended up getting some nice volume! You have less definition than usual for you, but it's still defined & pretty looking - just different than usual for you. I, personally, am too traumatized from decades of air drying & will never do it again. I will just skip washing if I don't have time rather than wash & air-dry lol

Thanks! it wasn’t too bad for air drying. I definitely prefer diffusing and the results I get, but this wasn’t bad. But it’ll be awhile before I do it again. lol.

Since this heat wave or whatever you wanna call it started, I've air dried for like an hour or so, then I diffuse. Takes like 10-20 mins compared to 40-60 mins.

That’s definitely a better time frame! I diffuse and air dry too, I just always do it the other way around. Thank you for watching!

Interesting. I always air dry and didn’t even realize that my hair might look better if I diffused . Whenever hairdressers diffuse my hair, I hate the way it looks and run home to wet it and let it air dry.

Oh yeah, mine is always better diffused. Unfortunately, plenty of stylists don’t really know how to diffuse properly. Or they just might not be doing it in a way that works for you. Thank you for watching!

I’ve never seen anyone else root clip with a big claw clip like you did. Your demo of this is so much less intimidating than other clipping videos I’ve seen.
