The parliament you saw was an old parliament. This was built during the colonial time in 1929 and used till 1983. The new parliament was built in Sri jayawardena pura Kotte. That lake is called Beira Lake.

I am Tamiliian from Bangalore, let's keep aside the political concerns and just think that how cleanly Ceylon Government, Corporation worker's and people have maintained the city beautifully, though Sri Lanka is doing economically not well. The gardens and trees in the city like my lovely Bangalore. Very desperated to see beautiful Columbu and Elangai, A great Thanks to Maddy and I wish people should come out of from adversities soon.

What you have shown as the Parliament building of Sri Lanka is the old Parliament building of Sri Lanka which was used till 1983. This building is currently used as the Presidential Secretariat. The present Parliament building is located at Sri Jayewardenepara kotte.
