Sir, I wish this video had been available before I bought my Waylens Secure360 4G dash cam. I installed the Waylens in my car the same day I received it and used it for about a month. In that short period, I encountered everything "bad" you described in your review. I have since removed the Waylens and have temporarily re-installed the DOD Tech LS460W that I was previously using. The fact that you cannot load your SD card videos and view them directly on your computer was the absolute clincher. The Waylens may hold the key to dash cam design of the future, but it does not do much for me today. In addition, thanks to a couple of your other videos, I placed an order yesterday for a BlackVue DR900S-1CH 4K from BlackBoxMyCar. I may use the DOD LS460W as the rear-facing camera. Such a great review. Very detailed in all your information. At the beginning of the video, I saw the 360 camera and thought it was a must have. After seeing what major details it does miss, I found it to be unacceptable for rear view recording. Just misses too much. Your near rear collision in the parking lot convinced me. There are some really great features that are well worth picking up two for front and rear. That 360 hours record time when parked is boss! Thanks again for the video. Extremely informative.

I've been wanting a 360 degree dashcam/surveillance system for my car for a long time, and was really intrigued by this product initially, until reading all the complaints about video quality and other issues in the forum on Waylen's site. This video confirms this product just doesn't cut it. Thinking of installing two 2CH cams, one front/back and the other left/right.

Good review. I own the Secure 360 WiFi model. Its video quality isn't the best, but it's still pretty good. I think that's an acceptable compromise to get monitoring from all sides. I think the sun glare is due to the 360 degree fisheye lens, and it is a problem in bright sun. Hopefully they'll have a firmware update in the future that can improve some of the shortcomings. It's really more of a vehicle security camera than a true dash cam. If you want a true dash cam, get one that has a camera in front and in back. One problem they really need to fix is that impact detection is so sensitive it starts recording when it's raining. I'm worried that could run down the car battery if it rains all day long.

Tl;dw. Get 4 2 channel high quality cameras and 4 point them and sync. Thank you for this video, shares great info over all! I just got a cheepy sense i just started driving and you bring up and adress major issues ive also noticed with my cam as well as what i could possibly do to solve.

This review was awesome. In future reviews, please review the microphone. What I have noticed, is I need to integrity test my cam for the Mic. Because since mine runs 24/7, it tends to screw the mic up and I need to power cycle it here and there for it to work properly.

Your 100% right with its faults. I'm hoping they fix alot of those issues its important to be able to zoom in and get the plate #. Also when watching the video and you try to zoom in it only allows you to zoom in on certain areas the video quality is for sure needing to be improved but the whole thing over all would be a great camera if they fixed the issues you talked about I'm hoping to contact them and have them reimburse me for the camra or give me one with better video

if it could be mounted higher and/or the camera rotated so that it was facing down? that would at least mitigate the flare issue. Wonder how much that would effect it's operation?

Got a question for you, perhaps you could answer it. I currently have a dashcam that is facing forward, it came with an analog camera for rear view as well. I originally installed them both and connected them, but the rear facing camera was completely jamming AM radio signal (I know, who listens to AM radio now a days?). I got a W211 Benz, and I guess the AM radio antenna is mounted near the top of rear window behind the head liner. I will probably step up to a Rexing V1LG to get HD on both ends of the car, but how should I go about installing the rear facing camera with maxing FOV and not interfere with the radio signal? Don't want to feed the camera outside, mainly because of the salt in winter.

Speaking of impact detection. I have Blackvue 750 2ch. Do ya think that Blackvue can upgrade firmware so dashcam says an impact occured at 730, 1130, 130am, etc. That way you're not looking for impacts endlessly. Now as far as 750 is concerned it keeps 50 events? Does it ever delete the 50 or do you have to manually do that

Please help. You make fantastic reviews. My Car is regularly damaged and it always happens at night. I am trying to find the dual camera which has a movement sensor or an infrared lens. Are there any cameras that I could install in the car so that it would take pictures of the sides of the car and any time someone decides to scratch it again the camera would take a short video or a series of photos of an incident. Can it be mounted to the ceiling of the vehicle with an option to flip the image so it's right side up when mounted overhead?

Hey. Did you try flipping that upside down to install and mounting it high up like the black view. I guess that would tackle the sun flare issues if you could. For the 360 videos, I have a ricoh theta+ software with my VR cam and it allows for exporting of circular videos into KZfaq. Try using that software for the Waylens 360 sphere videos and see if that works!

Hi, I live in Central Texas. As you can imagine it gets pretty hot here in the Summers. It can reach 120° Fahrenheit inside my car when it's parked. What dash cam would you recommend for this circumstance?

I bet all the sun flaring is from it mounted low on near the dash and the lens facing up. I wonder if you somehow find a way to mount it upside down on top of the windshield with the lens facing down if the quality will be way better. After exporting it you could use software to rotate the video right side up. This will also probably give you a better view of the rear windshield. Idk just a thought 🤷‍♂️

Thanks for the review. I came across this product on indiegogo and when you see the official footage, it looks a lot better. I wonder if they are showing actual footage or "faking/post processing" it. Can it be mounted with the lens facing down, just popping out below the rear facing mirror?

My Brother has one of those! Ever since I saw his and how it functioned, my Thinkware 750 seems Lazy! He has his setup so that even when he was in the Middle East, he could see his Family and chat with them.

I had been considering this camera, but after this review, I'll save my money. There technology is interesting, but this camera isn't there yet. I'd rather have two cameras. A normal higher quality camera for the front 120 degrees, and a combined rear and side camera for the remaining 240.

Have you heard of the kickstarter dashcam Vezo 360? It seems very tempting to take a chance on. It's not being shipped until next March pending delays. This Waylens 360 seems to be a more sure thing though, if we look past the video quality. Do you have confidence in kickstarters?

Would it be possible to mount it inverted at the top of the windshield instead? I expect that would help cut down the flare problems.

Even with its limitations and negatives, it could still be better than nothing and can come in handy in many situations like police stops.

What if you mounted it upside-down at the top of the windshield? Might that not cure the lens flare problem as well as give it a better FOV out the back? Very useful review, just a curious thought.

An accessory is coming for the Secure360 that resolves the sun glare issue!! The test vehicle was also (a) very dark compared to most cars (b) tiny if any rear window in the Miata convertible top. Notice how much better video quality was with his top down. $300 just for a battery pack to power another cam that records 20 extra hours with competitor cam vs $300 for Secure360 Wifi that records for 360 hours. No competition. The boss (Secure360 4G) is coming soon!!!!! Some suggestions in this review were good, easy firmware fixes. I just hope the next review is a little more fair & balanced. He should also talk more about all the features that set it apart from other dash cams. Secure360 is more like a security/accident detection/recording device than just recording a video camera...which are a dime a dozen. I also not sure about flipping it upside down. Might work but you will have more camera and cord in view. It looks better mounted right side up at the base of the window. Again, don't worry about sun glare...accessory coming!!

What would you recommend for front and back dash cam ? Something simple

The only problem I have with all these dash cams is that they are in some respects obvious and for the life of me I don't understand why nobody hasn't built a rear view mirror integrated unit. I get that sometimes not all rear view mirrors are the same but if someone builds a unit and it can plug into the cars "Universal plug" then integration should be a cinch. I know easier said than done.

Thanks certainly a comprehensive review, so even though its hit and miss so to speak lol with this dashcam probably still worth the outlay compared to the cost of an accident & injuries you might need essential evidence for to claim. House cctv covering your car parked at home or office building cctv would probably be sufficient for when parked but not supermarkets.

I feel this isn't the best if you want to catch someone who did a hit a run. As he said, and showed, you can't see the finer details. But I bought this cam and use it as a security camera for my car. When going in trips or living/staying in an area you can't trust. Its great to have a camera that captures what's going on all around the immediate area and inside the cabin. THOUGH I must admit I wouldn't have gotten it if it wasn't $100 off. Drive safe, team.
