I don't know why, but pre-outlaw Waylon seems to have such a big, driving voice.

I guess smoking 4 packs a day and doing coke for 20+ years changes a persons voice...

This is actually either a different take than what is on the soundtrack album or is live. I know I've listened to it for 50 years.

I've been chasin' the big wheels all over Nashville Waitin' for my big break to come Livin' on ketchup soup, homemade crackers and Kool-Aid I'll be a star tomorrow, but today I'm a Nashville bum I look good in cowboy clothes and I sing through my nose Webb said, "That's the way to get 'er done" I smoke good old PA like the Opry stars, they say I'll be a star tomorrow, but today I'm a Nashville bum Well, a friend of a friend of mine is a friend of art divines And he finally got me on the Opry show I walked out like a star, tripped and busted my guitar I'll be a star tomorrow, but today I'm a Nashville bum Well, now here's a song I wrote by myself, note for note With a lot of help, if I make number one You can change a word or two and I'll give half of it to you I'll be a star tomorrow, but today I'm a Nashville bum Yes, I'll be a star tomorrow, but today I'm a Nashville bum Read more: Waylon Jennings - Nashville Bum Lyrics | MetroLyrics

When Garth Brooks is drinking his Bud Light, show him this video and tell him this is authentic country music.

God was Waylon cool!! in this era clean shaven hair oiled and slicked back... he was a good ol boy. that Nashville couldn't break... back then you had to sing a certin way.. look a certin way.. wear those stupid western suits and then maybe they could make you a star if you did it there way..not Waylon..He'd walk on stage in any bar in Nashville and do a Neil Dimond song or a Beatles songs before he's do a Hank Williams tune. and he was too good to keep down
