Everyone in sm hates wayv, except the music producers. This is hella good

og nctzen back with more info✌ so basically Ten and Kun debuted first in 2016 and were introduced with U songs. Ten is in on the first nct song ever released "the seven sense" and Kun was on the Chinese ver of without u. Winiwin (white hair deep voice guy) was in the og lineup of 127 but got moved to wayv when a Chinese unit was announced to debut. Lucas (former member of wayv and nct) debuted third during the 2018 era with nct u's Boss alongside Jungwoo (nct127). In 2019 3 new members were introduced Xioajun, Hendery and yangyang. These 8 members debuted in 2019 with regular. Until 2019 none of the members had a fixed united and would only appear on U projects. Now They're officially 7 members. Wayv tends to be the least promoted unit and the most underappreciated one unfortunately; that's why they get less comebacks. Also legally there were some issues in the beginning with the whole chinses unit Korean company that's why they're the only unit without nct in their name. Hopefully, they'll be getting more comebacks and more activities now that Korean members will be starting to do their military services. They will have to fill in the gaps some ways possibly with more U releases? So there is hope. Wayv since debut sonically what separated them from the rest I think (I don't know much about music when it comes to technical stuff but) was the way they used more classical instruments in the mix and electric guitar (mostly distorted) while being very hip-hop and trap oriented. Their title track always feel grand and epic but not in the nct 127 way that is very experimental to the point people dislike it. Wayv might be more palatable, I think. Their music is very sm and very nct but the energy is what separates them the most from the rest. There's like a coolness that's more elegant and feels more seductive than 127. Another difference I noticed is the rapping. I would say it really defines 127 in a way that doesn't with the other unites. You could remove the rapping more easily in dream and wayv than 127 and it all comes back to how 127 songs seem to be built around mark and TY. The members that weren't mentioned in the comments yet are yangyang and Hendery. Yangyang is the maknae and he is one of the main rappers (my personal fav in wayv ) he is the one with the ginger hair in the mv. He raps in a way that's very cool and with a lot of passion. HENDERY is the other main rapper in this mv he has black hair. He has a more laid-back style of rapping. yeah if you have any questions, I can try answering them. The guy with the white hair and deep voice is Winwin! He has such a nice voice and it’s pretty sad that he doesn’t get as many lines but he’s getting more and more as of recent finally 😭

You should react to moonwalk it is my fav wayv title track and mv. My fav wayv album is awaken the world and its title track is turn back time. Take over the moon and awaken the world are my two albums where Lucas appears so if you see / hear a voice you don't recognize it's him. Before his departure he used to get the deep voice random english lines in songs but nowadays that role is filled by winwin who used to get almost zero lines so thanks for commenting on his tone and liking it!

Xiaojun is the main vocal you keep hearing and being blown away by. He's the best male vocal of the 4th gen in my opinion. And has my 2nd favorite voice in NCT after Doyoung. The rapper you said reminded you of Jisung is Yangyang, the youngest in WayV funnily enough. The other members are of course Ten, Kun, Winwin and Hendery. Kun, Ten and Xiaojun going back to back on the vocals in that last bridge into the chorus was INCREDIBLE. "On My Youth" is amazing because it's so beautiful and emotional and intense, which is very much up WayV's ally, but it's still COMPLETELY different to what their sound usually is, for title tracks at least. WayV are usually much more upbeat even though they keep the dramatic, heavy and darker tone. Going into this song I was scared I wouldn't like WayV switching up their sound a bit, but of course NCT always excel at diversifying their music and I loved it. I honestly would have loved the song even more if they kept it slow and angsty. I love the choreo so much as well, it really captures the song. I'm so proud of the work WayV did on this song. Also it hasn't been total silence from them this year haha they had a single a couple months ago called "Welcome to My Paradise" and they were all over the NCT 2023 album. But having their group comeback was SO needed, they easily have had one of my top comebacks this year. You definitely need to listen to the album, it's 10 songs and it's perfection.

the one who was 'way up there' was xiaojun. i actually didn't like this song when i first heard it (yesterday), but it's been stuck in my head and i've listened to it nonstop now 😂 reminds me a bit of 00s songs. like, completely different, but linkin park back and forth, no air, or some avrils more instrumentals. but definitely fresh ! i think the meaning also adds a lot to it.
