The wbp 556 is probably the best bang for the buck on the market right now and makes the most sense of any caliber ak with cheap steel case 5.45 being 50% more expensive that 5.56 and steel case 7.62 being 80% the price of quality brass surplus 5.56. ( this is coming from someone who had been die hard 5.45 for years)

Picked up a 5.56 Jack not too long ago. Sucker was extremely over gassed. So much so, reliability was absolute trash. Bolt speed and felt recoil were ridiculous. Cases were getting yeeted with such force that a 7.62 AK would have been jealous. I installed a KNS adjustable piston and now this baby purrs like a kitten and is as smooth as warm butter. Have had zero issues since I tamed the gas system. Absolutely enjoy mine.

WBP are probably the "nicest" AK for the money you can buy these days. You reach a point of diminishing returns pretty quickly with AKs that starts to beg the question "why spend $2000 on an Arsenal that is marginally (maybe only subjectively?) better than a $1000 Zastava". Sure, a $600 WASR is still the best true blue AK you can buy if you just want a reliable, imported AK. But for a couple hundred bucks more, the WBP is just as reliable, and the fit and finish is honestly heads and shoulders nicer.
@letsgetit90
@letsgetit90 7 ай бұрын
The M90 is the best bang for your buck for the 556 regarding imports. It's heavy as a fish sticks in a barrel, but you can change the gas ports to three levels. Many of these aks are over gases, and that's normal because they are designed that way. However, from watching many videos on WBP Jack 556, most buy a KNS pistol. That is like another 100-200 dollars. I have a wasr-10, Beryl 556, and m90. I purchased my dam Beryl three years ago when they were 1550. WBP and FB have been lowering their prices over the last few months. I wanted the 556 Jack but decided to get the m90 two years ago due to the availability. They were importing a small amount of WBP and FB aks at that time. A week after I brought the m90, they restocked the WBP Jack. The 556 Jack uses a Nitride Barrel, while the 7x39 uses a FB barrel. People will diss the 556 Jack due to the barrel and say they need to be more accurate and that it will only last for a while. For most of us shooters, we won't outshoot our barrels. My Was-10, which cost 700 dollars, is much nicer than my M90, which cost me about 1400 for everything. The safety leverager on my wasr is much smoother than my Beryl, which I love to death. The Jack finished is sexy and gorgeous. I might have to get one now since they are going 1k.
@TheOfficialCaseMade
@TheOfficialCaseMade 7 ай бұрын
@@letsgetit90 M90 is definitely the most well optioned 556 AK on the market, I would really like to see WBP come up with an adjustable gas system. I have seen on Atlantic they're offering WBPs from the factory with KNS pistons, so that's pretty cool. Honestly, I love WASRs, they are absolute tanks that will just go and go and go, but they're so damn clunky and just plain rough. That said, you shouldn't ever buy an AK based on it being shiny haha. If I remember right, Arms of America is selling WBP add your own furniture build kits for like $850, which is pretty damn hard to beat. Out of the box, WBP has a nicer fit and finish than any AK I've seen yet. They're just extremely well put together and it's a shame they don't get more recognition.

I rolled the dice with a WASR-3 back in 2015. It was from the newer imports (2005). I was lucky to pick from a stock of 4 of them that my LGS had at the time. Also they came with two magazines; one german weigner and one bakelite. I didn't care much for the bakelite since I wasn't a purist, so I convinced the salesman to trade for another weigner mag from another box. At the time, I didn't know that these rifles only liked that magazine. Once I found out, I bought myself plenty of those when they were still affordable. Long story short, I got snake eyes on the dice, because it has been reliable (and accurate after a muzzle re-crown). ever since. Never had issues and I have shot tons of ammo of different kinds thru it.

Only knock I personally have with the jack is the bolt carriers, they're nickle boron I believe don't quote me I just never liked the look of them in the white like that unless on a Yugo or Norinco/Polytech...a pretty small thing but the AK purist in me just doesn't care for it...I've been wanting to clone an AIMS74 one of these would be a decent candidate...again besides the carrier but still these are very good and have a pretty good reputation.

@@BurstReview I read up on it, they're zinc coated...not sure where I got nickle boron from but I read it somewhere, got it mixed up I guess lol but yeah I mean WBP is one of the best choices on the market now for sure. I just recently got into 5.56 AKs and I've fallen in love, I'm a lifelong 7.62x39 guy and wanted a 74 but in 5.56 because of the 5.45 situation and now I'm hooked haha the 5.55 mag market has some solid choices, not much capacity options tho, I wish someone would make a 45 round double stack mag that wasnt insanely expensive. Also I like the brake/flash hider on your rifle in the vid id like to get one to go on my AIMs clone since it will be hard as hell to find the correct 22mm front sight block for the AIMs brake.

These nitride barrels look to possibly be more accurate than the FB Radom chrome barrels. And realistically, a civilian will probably never wear out a nitride barrel on a semi-auto rifle. For most people it seems to be a fetish for AKs rather than something that is actually necessary.
@ozarkman291
@ozarkman291 7 ай бұрын
@@TheOfficialCaseMade as someone who's worn out a nitride AR barrel I'm going to say that's not true if you actually train and shoot. Plus with an AK swapping a barrel isn't nearly as easy as it is on an AR so a shorter barrel life is a big no go. Long term reliability is kind of one of the big AK selling points so I care deeply about it

One of my all time favorite Romanian AK74’s I have would be the SAR-3, chambered in 5.56. When he spoke on the WASR-3 I thought of it. I believe the WASR-10 ,and 10/63 are underrated. On another note, I have two Milled Arsenals. The Bulgarian SAM7sf,and the SAM7uf. They are great rifles no doubt , as well as a few other Arsenals that I used to have, but not worth the price in most cases. I have a decent collection of Milled , and stamped Chinese AK’s that all around do better than the Arsenal’s. As far as trading,or buying goes,$700 is the most that I have invested out of all the Chinese AK’s. They used to be considered trash. It’s funny how things change over time after certain things don’t get imported anymore. JMHO 🫡 .
