Thats correct, its a long standing once a year event for more info can go to www.importvsdomestic.com for rules full results etc. the true street and super street classes do have a larger percentage of imports to domestics then classes like x275 vs hot rod and radial vs modified. This is really the only big heads up event with classes that have rules competitive racing for imports and domestics at the same event.

I know there are a few in the Maryland area, not sure why none have attempted to run the event, there are 8 different classes

I know most dubbers like to race at 'VW ONLY' events but there's fun to be had by not following the crowd. I race mine in vintage road racing and the Mustangs don't like being harassed by a little bug!...beaten some of um!

+Turbo Cobra cars with almost the same HP as the v8's get to be lighter in this class. Of course they're gonna win

+Burnout VW The class is extremely fair and so are the rules, first off the FWD cars have to be 2400lbs, 2300lbs if they have a smaller turbo... The thing you don't realize is RWD V8's have a huge traction advantage, which is why they have to weigh more. IF you take away the #1 qualifier which is the car the went on to win. cars #2-#18 where with in .5 second of each other i'd say you can't get much fairer then that. WCF has extremely balanced rules for all car and engine combinations in all classes.

Because people don't want to be the r&d mule and do something different, they would rather copy / paste a proven setup that works. Very few people have the drive the actually go outside the box.

And as you see, the good starting point got beaten by the bad starting point in the finals..........

Miles Lawrence I don't doubt that a max effort 13B or such can do that, but it's like putting a man on the moon. It's not cost effective, it's something the majority of this world never witnessed, and few can ever achieve it. Turbo rotaries have problems going rounds at the strip. I can't imagine a high strung N/A would last any longer. I'm not against rotaries, I think they are neat, but there is a reason the design wasn't used across all of Mazda's car line.
