While this is correct, let me add one important note. While postponement is not a cancellation, it's important to keep an eye on the even rescheduling date. When an event is rescheduled, this opens a small 30-day window (in most cases) for obtaining a refund. As for stadiums and arenas which can be the home to sporting teams, a refund in "cash value" may not apply to them. Some, if not most, teams will issue a refund in credits which can only be used to re-purchase tickets of "similar value" at their venue.

@@carriesims9325 No, because the events are licensed. If you buy a ticket to an event, there are many different counterparts who needs to be paid. Once you agree to attend the event, it's your responsibility to be there or not. You agree to the terms of policy before paying. The events are licensed. And part of their licensing agreement indicates a no-refund policy. And this is provided to the purchaser upfront. To claim event companies are hungry parasites, you ignore the fact that you can refuse to not go or contact the company hosting the event within 30 days to get your refund.

During one of those segments the judge's hubby spoke abt her love to go kayaking (& she leaves the house at sun up) & all she does during those times. She, one time, spoke abt his love for "all things pertaining to pinball" & he subscribes to something called "Pinpoint"...all things pinball. Their back & forth banter is very revealing. Oh! I can speak on this. The reason it took so long is that teams had to verify if they were going to play or not. During the pandemic, games were halted. But not canceled. You received your refund because games were eventually canceled, arenas were not accepting anyone, and employees shifted to remote operations. If it wasn't for the pandemic, you wouldn't have received a refund as sporting event tickets come with a no-refund policy. However, there are small fine-prints to said refunds. And it varies. I believe the pandemic qualified as a catastrophic event (to some, not all), so ticket offices were forced to refund guests if they requested a refund. Sadly, that rodeo was probably not marketed, Lol

Almost every show seems like the plaintiff's and defendant's don't watch court shows. It's been a handful of episodes where either party has receipts or proof of any kind regarding the conflict. The defendant was a rarity in having proof from the vendor's website proving that the plaintiff can attend the concert on a different day and NOT specifying anything about a refund.

The only time I can remember seeing either judge Milian or Judy award money for stress involved false allegations made to CPS .

The defendant didn’t ask for the money back. The judge can only award damages that the litigant asked for. The defendant should have counterclaimed for her $89 back and I’m sure the judge would have given it to her.

@@lynne709 in manta case the judge has deducted awards for contract cases like his. So a person couldn't benefit from the value of a potential settlement and then file a lawsuit. Just says it's happened before s there is a lot of precedent

I believe that the judge just forgot due to all the bantering back and forth. The plaintiff should have only received 11 tickets.

🤔 The terms were plain and clear.. The defendant shoulld not eat the cost of 12 tickets because the show was postponed. The plaintiff acted as if her friend of 30 years was being deceitful. She was honest and proved that she bought 12 tickets. Then she lied and said the Barclays center said she should get her money back. When confronted she changed her story and said her friend said she can get her money back. Then she showed evidence that wasn't from Barclays. She basically imputed bad motive towards her friend. She then sued her for nothing. All over a PANDEMIC which was not her fault.

I absolutely agree they should. You bought a ticket for a certain date and time, who is to say the future date and time will work with your schedule or that you will even be in the area anymore if it's months away? But 'should' doesn't get it done.
