Yep we've bought a van! A 2002 Renault Kangoo. Its our solution to dad getting further and further away from his job, as paying for fuel there and back 6 times a week was becoming very expensive, now he only needs to drive there and back, sleeping in the van over the weekend. This video series will follow us as we turn this dodgy old van into a lovely camper.

He is. He actually says it's more comfortable than his boat on the bed. Unfortunately, there is nowhere for him to shower, so he has one before he goes and one when he gets back.

I would leave the ramp in place, mainly thanks to a friend of mine who ended up in a wheelchair, we kitted out his Transit with ramps at the side door to get him in and out. So easy shopping, you take the complete loaded shopping trolley, just wheel it into the van instead of unloading it! go home, unload at the house then return the trolley on the next visit! (Okay this was a lot of years ago!), makes it easy to load and unload bikes as well.

What you should have done was put the bed behind the passenger seat and the kitchen on the drivers side then your dad wouldn't have to move his driving seat forward

I had to do it that side because unfortunately the 3rd chair was behind the passenger and not the driver, we need 3 chairs as there's 3 of us.

Well suits us now we are over 2 hours away from Andys work. We could just stay in one place but what's the point. We done this life to cruise the canals and we love it. The van is practical 😊

The trick in campervans is to buy some cheep office carpet get some rest Evostick then stick it to all the wooden surfaces not only does it look good but it also absorbs the condensation from the body heat that is produced from a person's breath and body 😎😎😎

Funny you should say that one of our viewers have delivered carpet to us so since this vlog we have carpeted all the floor and Andy has bought carpet for all the metal surfaces so it should be great 👍

Nice van. You did a good job making the living area for Andy. It'll save a lot of money on petrol. That's good that Andy can stay at his job in the pub.

Andy is loving his weekends in the van and it saves so much money in petrol as we are 1 and a half hours away now.😊
