Yeah, and Captain America's shield is also canonically disproportionately light because of its material in movies. Vibranium is approximately 1/3 the weight of steel. Based on the weight of the shield in this video, it'd only be a measly 1 kg. This would make the frisbee air foil effect much more apparent.

That whole affair reminds me of 19th century treatise about the weapons in old Irish stories (like the Táin Bó Cúailnge starring CuChulainn). It specifically mentioned that some tales contain accounts of "missive shields" that are meant to be thrown and their effects. (It is: Lecture XV, Of Weapons of Warfare in Ancient Erinn (V.) Weapons of Warfare, in Eugene O'Curry: On the Manners and Customs of the Ancient Irish (Volume 2). Edited by W.K. Sullivan. Williams and Norgate 1873.)

A sharp edge on them would make them deadly,. I only would use it on an enemy that either was running away, or towards me, if I had something else to use, so not defense less if I am attacked. As I am a bit lame, one of my my feet not working as it shuld (spine nerve damage), people can pretty easily run away from me. So I can imagine old, or hurt warrior, be it viking or other type using it in a pinch. Heh, I can see them competing in it, just for fun, as they did so with other things. Edit: cap shield, perhaps a bit more weight would actually help and stability. I could be totally wrong tho, but I would simply reinforce the middle bit of it with another layer, like the other round ones, but simply with another layer ontop or behind, whatever is most easy. Perhaps both sides if the metal you have is a bit thin, wich it seems to be.

the Vibranium in the shield make it absorb kinetic energy, but would also make it a into a wet blanket if thrown on a wall as it would absorb the impact and just drop, but the shield is made of Adamantium AND Vibranium, the Adamantium make it possible for the shield to bounce. It being made of both those material makes it pretty much indestructible. Only a real god level being like the Celestials, the Beyonder, The Living Tribunal, Sentry, Owen Reece etc who could separate the atoms of the shield and just "unmake" it can destroy it. and no, adamantium can not be reheated and then cut off like in that silly movie
@AurianArchive
@AurianArchive 4 ай бұрын
Real quick on the Hawkeye/Vibranium bit. Hawkeye would probably have used a glue or a net arrow which wouldn't rely on a kinetic impact to deliver the effect. He'd probably also set it to a distance burst, then use the glue or netting to get BEHIND Cap and then consider a kinetic impact effect. We did see that Spidey could web the shield out of play for a bit, so it's not unreasonable that a Web/Glue would be the opener choice for Hawkeye as well.
