It is PRIME foraging time in Florida right now! We did a combo of coastal and forest foraging in this video, loading the freezer and pantry with POUNDS of delicious mushrooms and hundreds of the biggest shrimp I've ever seen! This is a very different type of content for this channel, but it was a ton of fun! We'll definitely be doing a lot more of this in the future as we continue to transition more and more towards getting the majority of our food from the land. Let us know if you'd like to see more like this one.

Things I've learned: 1. Don't eat stuff that you're not sure about. 2. Ants might be wasps. 3. Some bugs are either friendly or dead or both. 4. If you look down in Florida, you'll find shark teeth. 5. Shrimp are gonna stab you 6: Squish all the moss!

Wow that is so great that you guys can spend one day on the water and catch that many huge shrimp! And the chantrelles were so abundant too! Its amazing that you guys can literally forage enough in like a week to last you two literally for months! Thats wonderful! Thank you for showing us how abundant foraging can be. I think that is amazing!

I love any place foraging. I watch another channel from Wales, who does coastal foraging with his dog. His dog likes to catch anything caught in tidal pools. That guy finds edible plants that grow near the tidal pools AND creatures left in the tidal pools and stuff. And then he cooks them and eats them right there on the shore. I've been so amazed how plentiful food truly is in the wild.

I saw a tip about stopping the ticks from crawling up your legs. You wrap a bunch of sticky tape, with the sticky side out, around the top of your socks. As the ticks crawl up your socks, they get stuck on the sticky tape.

That would be awesome, but when you start taking large groups of people, especially those who are just tourists and don't know how to really "leave no trace" the area becomes beat down, and stripped of everything pretty quickly. Lots of traffic, more than just the 2 or 3 of them at a time, can really impact the environment and cause even more erosion to river banks and such. It happens to almost every natural place when humans discover it and lots of people come, walk around, forage, etc some areas were even declared off limits because humans were causing so much damage.
