We always considered Bratislava, Slovakia as a city less travelled, in a country that didn't seem to rank very high on tourists lists. We were sorely mistaken when we realised that not only is it incredibly popular (rightfully so) but we OURSELVES had actually been there before!
This time around we saw a lot more of the city. We climb up to the Bratislava caste, saw the blue church and ate some unbelievable local food. Honestly can not believe fried cheese is traditional.
Needless to say, we will NOT be forgetting Bratislava this time!
Also We have included our total travel budget and goals at the end of this video! It's in Australian dollars and we hope to be more transparent with our finances in future videos!
Thanks for watching!

Cannot believe we forgot about a country who's traditional food is fried cheese! 😅
@Busha69
@Busha69 2 жыл бұрын
Wouldn't necessarily call it "traditional" but it is very typical for Slovakia AND Czech republic...apparently became popular during 1910s Czechoslovakia, served with potatoes and tartar sauce, which preserves to this day. The really typical traditional Slovak food would be bryndzové halušky I guess.

I am from Slovakia . Just for information, our traditional food is rather garlic soup, pirozh and, of course, bryndzové halušky

Hi tourists :) A little tip for you: Our traditional food is "Bryndzové halušky" that is on menu at most restaurants in Slovakia. Our traditional cheese is "Parenica" and "Údená parenica" (you should definitely try them both) and you can find them in any grocery shop in the "cheese section" :) Anyways, lovely video! Safe trips to all 💗

Love the budgeting/financial addition (have been watching from the start - love your channel). Trying not to catch up too quickly as am about 11m behind. Just wondering what you started out with from Adelaide? We would love to do this type of world trip one day, from NZ it is so hard to get to Europe and do it well. 😢

Woa! Thanks so much, we can't believe you've been watching from the start 😀! We left Adelaide with a big chunk of change from working (and spending mothing) through the pandemic. It was somewhere in the realm of 80k! If you like the finance side of it we publish pretty detailed income and expense reports on our website that might interest you! 😀

Fried cheese is not traditional Slovak food. I would call it a common food. The same applies to the Czech Republic, where fried cheese with french fries or boiled potatoes used to be the cheapest food on the menu in the Czechoslovakia (so even an ordinary family could afford it in socialist times). Due to the increase in cheese prices in recent years, this food is no longer one of the cheapest, but it has become an attraction for foreign tourists. :D . Yeah, Bryndzové halušky, that's traditional slovakian food.
@JordanandEmily
@JordanandEmily Жыл бұрын
We have found that out now! we were just following lists we found online 😃 at the very least it was delicious! We didn't get to try Bryndzové halušky but I just googled it and it also looks like something we would love! next time ;)
