Having been challenged by a subscriber to find a Ford Cortina Crayford featured briefly in a 1981 episode of Only Fools and Horses, Trevor managed to identify its real registration (SLR979F) and also that it was likely to be still in existence.
This time, with subscribers help, we actually manage to track down the owner and find out more about the car's history and how come it ended up on TV!

I see someone in this comments called you columbo, sad what happened to the 2 columbo Peugeots, one vanished and the other is in Mexico rotting away. Good work on these cars though, good to see some nice surprises.

@@Roachie1982uk it definitely isn't, there were 2 cars, one is gone and the other is in Mexico, I've seen videos of people that have talked about it, even the producers of columbo went and seen it and hoped to buy it back, but they said it was that bad it was too far gone. I Also looked on columbo forum and they said the same thing. So I can guarantee to you now it's not in any museum,

I know you talked about Onslow's car his Ford Cortina, in Keeping up appearances but I am curious about what happened to the other cars used in the series, Richards Rover, the Metro belonging to Elizabeth and the Mercedes belonging to Violet. Could you please do a separate video on what happened to these cars I love the series so far on the early Wheeler Dealers cars.

Great video. Lets hope it gets restored in the same colours it had on Only fools. Here's an impossible task for you--- How about finding the Ford Zephyr mkIV from the original series of Aufwiedersehn Pet, the one that in the programme that OZ drove out to Germany with Dennis and Neville. In fairness i bet it was scrapped decades ago, as the series was made in 1983!!!! But you never know!!!

Great video, well done!! I've done a vehicle check on the Cortina and the colour of vehicle is showing Black not Silver.

Bit odd that the owner had the KIA MK4 Cortina but allowed it to be scrapped - as far as I can tell the car was discovered on waste ground looking just as it had in '95, but no-one wanted it so it was scrapped.

Hate to burst your bubble regarding the sweeney cars you quickly mentioned, but (especially) most of the fords that were used in the majority of the series.. especially the NHK/VHK/PNO prefix cars, were all ford supplied press cars.. Some of them, especially those with the VHK and PNO prefix cars were also used in The professionals tv show.

Yes Ford did supply the leading cars but the others were supplied by someone else!!!

@adamwort7160 thats why i said most.. Not all.. Its the same with the likes of the professionals.. Ford supplied most of the cars, but other firms supplied the rest or "supporting cars/vehicles". FORD saw these shows as a great way to advertise their products.
