A few weeks back we headed over to Germany to check out one of the largest surplus warehouses in Europe. It was a fantastic opportunity to meet the team who helped supply AP with much of our surplus clothing and equipment. We were also able to source some really, really neat surplus that you'll see at AP in the future.
A massive thank you to everyone at Sturm for showing us around and welcoming us into their home. It was an absolute pleasure to meet them and learn more about their story

@@finkamain1621 That's still pretty common in Germany. Worked at a company which allowed us to smoke in the office (we had a smoker and a non smoker office) and even installed some high end ventilation system so you could smoke and don't even smell your own cigarette.

I remember when there was always great stuff from WWII and onwards in Army Surplus shops in 90's London. Tried on a Russian great coat once age 15, could bearly stand ;-)

I was stationed in Germany after the wall fell and that surplus was everywhere for dirt cheap. Now it's drying up. BTW, I have been a WW2 German re-enactor for over 30 years. The enlisted NVA boot is not good for re-enacting as it has rubber soles and a stipple pattern in the leather. Even in the early 90's when there were only a few companies reproducing WW2 German equipment most people stayed away from those boots. Most of us used converted West German Wachbataillon boots. I was lucky and had a pair made by a local shoe maker when I was stationed in Germany. He and his Father made boots for the Heer in WW2 when he was a little kid.

Surplus is fun to get into. I lived in West Germany as a kid before the wall fell, and I remember seeing those East German soldiers looking across the border at us. I'm glad Germany has been unified since then.

Got an Italian army blanket that was cut a little and used in a latrine as carpet...Still good! I wouldn't mind one of them German blankets. A wool blanket is a tent. it's a coat..it's a life saver.

with most roller delayed rifles you have to let the bolt drop you cant just slide the cocking handle foreward. good content though def gonna keep an eye on the channel
