I like the fact that you are doing what a normal vey day person would possibly be able to do and afford and that they could do this for themselves. It’s not just about making a buck this is more like a learning experience even know you do make some money off all the people watching. I am glad we are back on tract kudos.

Hey Randy! Awesome to see someone else rebuilding a Dart! On your flooded Dart, you may want to check out the TCM, it is located in the passenger side floor board. The Dart that I am rebuilding would not start when I got it. Not a flood damaged car, however, because it had been in a collision and the doors did not close all the way, and it had been sitting for over a year, moisture had gotten into the TCM connector and corroded some of the pins. This caused the car to throw a U0101 error because it could not see the TCM. If it cannot see the TCM, it will not start. Just some food for thought for ya given it is literally on the floor board. Good luck! Great videos!

@1956model15 жыл бұрын
Nooooooooo!!!! Don't flush the transmission, just change the fluid and filter, if it has a serviceable filter. Flushing is just asking for problems with something getting stuck in a valve body because you stir up any trash that is in the pan. Especially when it has over 200k on the odometer.
@410cultivar4 жыл бұрын
Most places call a transmission flush emptying the, trans, filling it back up, emptying it again, then filling it back up again. At least that's what valvoline did to mine. They had the flush machine, but all they did was suck,out the old. Put the plug back in. Fill it,up. Had me turn it on, cycle,through drive and reverse and what not. Then sucked,it empty again, and then filled it up again. Did it at 72k miles, I'm at 89k now with no issues

This will be a nice project series to watch, looking forward to it. It will be interesting to see what, if anything, besides the engine and transmission, has to be swapped to get the flood car back to running. I am also curious to see the final numbers once this is all said and done to see if it was worth it. I think you will be able to make your money back plus some profit just off of the flood car once it's restored. Then you should be able to make a few hundred on top of that off the parts car when you re-sell/scrap that after getting the needed parts off of it.

Save the key remote from the donor and you should be able to use it on the one that you're rebuilding even if it has two keys already you can always add a third one.the only thing is is the plane key to get in door an emergency would have to get a new blank and have it cut other than that remote and all that stuff would work. save any electronics you need from the donor car for the one that you're rebuilding to the one that was in a flood and the one that was an accident should have some good donor parts for the electrical system for the flood car you are rebuilding.

Randy, Dude, you're really the best. absolutely clear what you say, that you do flip cases for everybody. But everyone also dreams of great cars that we&you can not afford, but are dreamable through Copart. Let's see it again with Merz S600 (1 million clicks) or maybe ML500. Please. The fast flips are kind of non emotional. Dodge Dart.. well. But Dude .. I am a fan and will keep on following you from Germany. I love what and how you do it. Bottom-up Cheers.
@gosportjamie5 жыл бұрын
And when you part out and sell the rest of the blue Dart, that engine and trans will be pretty much free. Parts cars really are the way to go if you have the space for them and the time to strip them out and get the parts up for sale...
@buildthread83795 жыл бұрын
So cool! You should do a big turbo!
@gosportjamie5 жыл бұрын
From the stuff in it and the mucky condition I would say that blue Dart was someone's company work vehicle. It might be bad news from the cleanliness side, but company vehicles are usually maintained right up to scratch as the companies really don't want vehicles having down-time...

Ok pro tip here load the car with the nose on the front of the trailer you want that weight on the hitch otherwise it is gonna pull like crap and pop up and down on these small cars it isnt too noticeable but if you put a full size truck on there you will learn real fast what i mean.

That explains the clear title cars that look like repairable writ-offs, because of self insurance. I've one self insured car but I don't use it and its only done 1800 miles in 4 years, yep 1800 from new but it is a Mirage and the base model so not worth much to start and used as a loaner.
@NewJerseyPhiladelphiaDelaware5 жыл бұрын
Is it a 2015 mirage? Only 1800 miles? Thats awesome!
@2DogsVlogs5 жыл бұрын
Yep a 2015. It has a year warranty on it so I'm giving it to my niece for her first car as it only gets used once a month or so.

@@2DogsVlogs does the car feel cheap inside? Any weird noises or rattles?sorry for the questions
@2DogsVlogs5 жыл бұрын
@@NewJerseyPhiladelphiaDelaware Its not too bad inside. Lots of plastic as you'd expect. No rattles or anything but I hate the CVT. Once its going and you put your foot down nothing happens as it doesn't back down like a normal transmission. So it can be dangerous, you have to think ahead before acting.

Nice. Should work out good. I guess you're just not into replacing springs on cars. You should try it on at least one. And with the sense I get with you of knowing the difference in rides, since you've driven the new cars should see the difference after replacing the springs. Especially controlling body roll which affects the performance. Sure, you put in new shocks, yet the springs are old and have been working probably since new. I was mainly thinking of the truck, which will be towing. I would want the stance of the truck to be as stable as possible. In my mind right now I'm looking at the truck and loaded trailer from a side view and wonder how your truck will look. I look for all the forces acting as the truck pulls and how the trailer affects the stance of the truck. Does it pull the rear down and if so, what is acceptable. If I remember right those engines can go a long time and seems like you will be mostly driving highway. Well, thanks for sharing and I also know how your budget can keep you from buying springs and such. I'm just babbling a bit here, lol. Not meant towards you in any way. What can I say I'm hooked on springs but only do it on cars I know I'll keep. As you know Randy, you'd go broke if you fixed every little thing on a car. Maybe someone new will read this and try it. I believe it adds to a safer car as well. Thanks again for sharing.
