About Hobi's stumble: From where he was standing on the center platform, the steps he had to negotiate were especially uneven, both surfaces angled in different directions (why do that, set designer?). It's a wonder he caught himself so smoothly. A less coordinated person would have face-planted. Respect.

They overcame SO much to get to that moment. Three members out with illness and injury, two of whom didn't get to fully practice until the day before. JK had literally been sick that whole week and didn't receive a negative test until the evening before the last day, you could tell he hadn't fully recovered in the live after, he was tired and coughing a little, occasionally had to take a few deep breaths. I'm so so proud of them all!

You said you were nervous even knowing how it turned out. 100% . I’m awed that they didn’t crumble under such enormous pressure and challenges. They took a huge risk with such complex choreography. V looked really nervous on the day, and I know Hobi would be disappointed but watching it first time live I didn’t even notice. Regardless it was epic. They won’t be going as a group next year so the Grammys will miss exploiting them and Army. Although of course, any of them could get nominated for their solo work. But I hope the first Grammy is won by BTS. God knows they deserve it.

Same, Nico. I only watched the Grammys for BTS too. Grammys don't deserve BTS honestly. Our boys tried to hide it but you can tell they were disappointed getting snubbed again. But I was so excited for them that they got to perform. 💜

The fact that Jhope and JK both had Covid right before this performance and Jin hurt his hand.. this shows their professionalism. I’ve seen a lot of American artists make excuses and complain because of something small and here comes bts, pulling it together, working hard and succeeding.

During their V-live they said they only pulled of the jacket twist one time prior to the broadcast performance. These guys are really perfectionists because my untrained eye saw them pull it off 9 times out of 10.

Blaze was especially proud of RM in this video. The way he smiled when RM showed up was so cute. Props to BTS for the uphill battle preparing for the scammys. They absolutely dominated that stage and lit Vegas up for weeks after. L💜

These guys are just truly amazing. It was always Jungkook and Jimin practicing their vocals in the background. It was really tough for them with only 4 or 5 of them practicing together most of the time and then J-Hope and Jungkook joining the day before the show for final rehearsals. I felt bad for Jin watching this. Jimin was so sweet telling him that they were only BT without him (because Seokjin was missing). Also, Jimin telling J-Hope he missed him so much as his workload became harder without him. It seemed like Jimin and RM actually took the lead in dance rehearsals without J-Hope and Jungkook there. They all step in when others are out. I really love watching these behind the scenes as much as I do the actual performance. JK had some strange looks on his face twice - I wasn't sure if he was upset, still not feeling great, or nervous about coming out the sky without a harness, nervous about singing just after recovering from C or maybe all of the above. I am always impressed with Jungkook's analysis of dance moves that are more complicated than they need to be and coming up with solutions that are easier to execute and look smoother and get them where they need to be. This is so helpful whenever J-Hope can't be there. JK, Hobi and Jimin are the top of the mountain when it comes to making dance look deceptively easy and pushing the envelope.

BTS never cease to amaze me. Always true to their craft in every way even in sickness, tired with no time to rehearse they kill it. There is no one like them. Absolutely incredible! 🙌🏼

The fact that Hobi was able to perform on that level after just having Covid amazes me. I had Covid before there was a vaccine and let me tell you I was so fatigued months after. To this day I still have bouts of random fatigue. So it is completely understandable for his legs to want to tap out at some point. He probably was pushing his body so hard just to be there and show out. I told so many that have never seen BTS perform a stage routine that this was amazing but only a quarter of what they can do and have done. So proud.

All the guys performed brilliantly. Jhope and Jungkook had very little time to practice and were perfect like the others. Lets see if the Grammys get a performance as good or better than that next year. 💜👊👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏

jk was still sick with Covid during the practice too and Jimin just got released from the Hospital from having his Appendix removed with Covid it was amazing that they all performed at all. if you go back to the actual performance after all those huddles, make it even more amazing. That performance was masterful. After everything they went through with COVID-19, having to quarantine, Jin’s hand injury and lack of rehearsal time, they nailed it. They are so hard on themselves. About the cards : i have no doubt it might have been their intention at the beginning and they might even have practiced it, but I don’t think that V threw the card and JK caught it on performance day, that’s too many variables and quite the distance. I think in this video we see V checking for the timing of the card “throw”. Same thing later on when Jimin is center and seems to throw the card to V behind him who’d have caught it with his lips. They’ve done this trick before ~SPOILER for anyone new to BTS~ in WAB pt2 with the hats. Anyway you wanna put it, this performance was fire and their hard work made history. That’s all that matters.

It was so sweet when they told Jin they weren't BTS without him. They were only BT. Jin had said so ethereal else he felt bad he couldn't perform and they're there telling him he's needed. It's not the same if they aren't 7. Also loved Jimin telling Hobi not to get sick cuz his life is easier when Hobi is there. Jimin did well guiding them until Hobi got back. Each one has his own roll to keep things flowing and they notice when one isn't there. They leave that space for them to come back to though and fill in fairly well. They are truly amazing performers not to mention human beings.

we see their love for each other in everything they do but i especially appreciate the cute moments like taehyung with jin at the end and then jimin giving kudos to taehyung immediately (typical vmin style). but of course taehyung would notice and remember the little details like doing a cheer without jin. that’s truly his nature. observant, thoughtful, and extremely caring for all of the members and people in general. or jimin and yoongi dealing with their loss with humour lightening everyone’s mood. or when hoseok showed up and was so obviously putting on a false calm facade, in the best way. if you watch it and pay attention he is very purposeful with the way he talks and does everything, to reassure the team. and jimin of course points it out. and then later when hobi and jimin had their telepathic conversation where hobi was just like “jimin” *gestures about jacket* just all the little things 💜 but hobi and his grounding force definitely stood out to me because he is obviously nervous and put in the worst circumstances but he does what he has to do to keep the team together and confident. it made me think “man, hoseok is THE person i’d want handling a crisis situation.” oh and speaking of keeping the team together, dance leader jimin during the first few rehearsals was doing a great job. you can tell the difference in his normal behavior vs when hobi’s gone

I love this performance and choreography so much and wish they would have won....the timing was so important. They already knew they would be breaking up for solo work and the military and this was their one chance. The stories behind the stories - virtually no rehearsals on new material except for the last minute just hours before they would be performing - 2 people down with covid - Hobi still looked so pale and thin. The jacket choreo - did you know they rarely were successful with it while learning and practicing? Jin, so wanting to be out there with them -which of course meant that the dance had to be totally restructured for 6 instead of 7. I'll never forget their story for last year and that performance. Yoongi broke my heart. He was crying, it meant so much to him to earn that Grammy. He also probably felt it was their one chance and when it didn't happen he knew it probably never would. Also....when they did their "we are Bangtan" afterwards - (they saved it to include Jin) they did it in those last few minutes of this youtube and Yoongi did what he continues to do and how I hope he never stops doing it: he looked away, outside the circle they always form. He once said that when he does it looking into the circle at the other guys, it will signify that it will be their last performance ever.

I recall that the day (or so) after the performance, the show manager was talking about how Hobi and JK arrived later and they had to somehow find a slot for them all to practice on the stage. He was just so amazed that they managed to pull it together and felt really good that they (the organisers) took special steps to give them the time. He was very very impressed by how much they had done in so short a time. Good for him.

Those guys are amazing. No wonder they're global sensations. Watching them, for me, is better than watching a Tony-Award-winning Broadway musical. Much, much better (except for maybe Les Mis - but that really is a different kind of musical that can't really be compared fairly to a BWS concert - comparing apples and oranges).
