It pisses me off that even the one director was trying to cover for their shit writing. Tyrion keeps mentioning Cersei's pregnancy with Euron standing right there. But Cersei had only just informed Euron about it. The director said that Euron wasn't "paying attention" while Tyrion talked. Oh, ok.

“And in the and (referring to Dany) you are who you are..” WOW just WOW. That’s how you throw character development out the window in just a sentence. Dany could have become mad, in time. The way in which they decided to do it just lacked depth, she had to become mad because that was the story line. In this last season many of the characters’ choices were just to make the plot go in a particular direction and that was it. I saw plot holes, and useless dialogues everywhere that couldn’t have been covered by the hudge 3D sections. What a disappointment.

Ernesto Gastelum honestly in episode 6 it looked like there weren’t many Dothraki left. The scene where Jon walks to Dany before she gives her speech. You can tell the Dothraki numbers has significantly been lowered. The unsullied look like they even dwarf them and they only have 4,000 left. Even half of the Dothraki being killed in episode 3 still leaves 50,000 Dothraki. 50,000 is still a lot. That’s more than the northern army which numbers at 45,000 full strength before the war of the five kings. however, I still see your point. The writing has been shit. I personally think Winterfell should have been overrun and they are forced to retreat. Those tunnels in the crypts to escape we should have seen used and anyone else outside manages to escape because bran actually does something useful like sacrifices himself holding the NK’s army back before being killed. Which allows everyone in Winterfell to escape that’s one way it could have been improved.

You know...for the first time in my life, I’ve actually considered committing murder. I know I shouldn’t say things like that, but I can’t deny my feelings. David Benioff and Dan Weiss destroyed everything we loved about the show. They have to die. I mean, if someone were to kill them, would you blame them? I certainly wouldn’t. In fact, people’s hatred for them has become so universal that you could call for their deaths and MEAN IT. And one last thing-and I don’t care if this make me sound like the biggest asshole on the planet-I don’t give a shit about their families. I don’t care that they have wives and kids. They should be grateful to us for killing their deadbeat husbands/fathers. If not...well, may they drown in their own tears.

Not exactly all. There are great scenes with characters like Tywin Lannister that aren't in the books. That makes it all the worse when they completely botch taking over the story after the books end though.

This season is so stupid that Varys, after having supported her from season 4, decides to betray her because she looks in a weird way at jon at the post apocalypse party. And that only because Dany is mad because fucking Tormund, which happens to be jon's friend, tells him he's a true king. That's not enough to explain Varys change of heart. And of course Dany's ascension to madness.

- Seven seasons building Jon's fate and ... nothing happened. - Bran became the three eyed raven for... nothing. - Varys spreaded the news about the true heir to the throne... nothing happened. - No fight between Jon and Greyworm (can't continue because spoliers) If HBO is offering more episodes and $$$, take the opportunity to end the series in a way that it deserves, fuck man, this was supposed to be an amazing last trip.

While I absolutely agree that D and D what the bed regarding GOT season 8, the outline they were given was from George R R Martin, and it is generally understood the he dislikes the usual tropes of protagonists and prophecy/destiny. To me, what happened in the final season is a much more realistic take on how power disputes such as these have happened in our own history. As human being we give way too much importance to our reason for living in such a cruel world as a way of coping with it, and we are trained to expect that "chosen one" tripe in fantasy stories. George R R Martin never wanted to take that route. Turing the kingdom into an oligarchy was an interesting twist to me and perhaps that was why these characters were where they were. Do we ever really see our own destiny clearly? Or do we go by our own views and ideals to determine what our own destinies are only to find ourselves disappointed? The writing could have definitely been better, but overall, the ending made sense given the view of the original source.

I don't have hbo I get my shows on torrents. Correct me if I'm wrong but there are no commercial breaks on hbo? The subscription pays for everything. If that is the case it's little wonder they spent less and less time on each season and made everything concise. The show costs a fortune to make, the cast list is massive. Most other reality shows you have 50 actors tops. This has several hundreds. Think how much Robyn and edmure must have asked to be paid to drop whatever it is they were doing to come and appear on the last scene. Hbo: hi Robyn we need you for one scene for the end of the season. Were going to get all the lords together. Robyn: yeah ok I want $1M Hbo: we were thinking more like $4000 travel and expenses paid for. Robyn: take it or leave it. (Hypothetical example) With so many actors any one of them could extort the show for more money and the show doesn't want to keep replacing actors and substituting them. The bigger your cast list, the more chances of people trying to extort the snow

I can't help but think this is just D&D losing it without source material. Both that Arya scene and that Sansa scene aren't in the books (Arya's is another character entirely and since the whole Sansa/Ramsay thing is made up- in the books, it's another girl who's forced to pretend to be Arya who marries Ramsay and escapes with Theon- there's no way she'd have that in the books). It weirdly seems like they chose to add these weirdly out of character, dark scenes for Sansa and Arya (and in Arya's case, make the character much more violent) but then act like they didn't happen while cutting some of Dany's darker moments (like agreeing to have someone tortured for information in Meereen) and having her end up crazy. That's not how you set up characters for logical conclusions, it's just bad writing.

@@legrandliseurtri7495 No, totally agree. It's not like Dany is portrayed as Completely Evil in that scene. I'm just saying that a scene like that (and other darker scenes of Dany's that were cut) would go a long way to setting up this ending- like showing she'd agree to torture someone in Meereen establishes that she'll blur the line or right and wrong and use dark methods to get to what she thinks is right. And adding darker material for Sansa and Arya and making Arya way more violent and cutting a lot of her more heroic/compassionate moments (like giving water to the dying men in Braavos and the Riverlands, caring for Weasel, saving Sam in Braavos, etc.). Like we get to see Arya has nightmares of killing people in Braavos even though those people were unambiguously awful people, that was kind of needed for the show if you ask me; it's just plain odd if this is the conclusion you wanted to reach.You're right, it's just shock value ugh

M stop saying that people who hate this show are only jumping into bandwagon. I love this show so much ever since i started watching it that i’m trying so hard to find any good left in it. But unfortunately, it’s like finding a needle in a haystack. Tyrion... gosh tyrion tried so hard to save both jaime AND cersei. Didn’t you watch the same show!? He didn’t ask this to save the people’s lives, he asked this to save their lives! He wants them to ESCAPE, to start a new life tgt. Jaime, i totally understand. Jaime has always been a good brother to him. But cersei!? The woman who wants him dead all his life. He even killed his father for it. This just shows that dumb&dumber can’t write great characters like tyrion themselves

And she was struggling a lot, too. TWO brains aneurysms in the spam of the series, and she talked about how utterly terrifying it was and how her character inspired her to rise above. This sudden 180 of Dany must have broken her heart. In one interview a while ago she said Dany's ending left her "fucked up" :c

Brief sum up of the “great” finale - devalued the entire story that was built throughout the seasons - all of the mysteries which they were shading during the GOT end up being ridiculous and useless - white walkers is simple zombies and you can kill all of them just by stabbing their leader - Cersei isn’t a tyrant-strategist, but just a hysterical bitch - Jaime is just a loser - Tyrion isn’t the cleverest man in Westerosi, but a dude who fucks up every time, a bad adviser together with Varis - Bran since being the powerful three-eyed-raven ends up being just a useless furniture as a character (and suddenly starts to see the future which he wasn’t able to see before, only the past) - Deny suddenly became the mad queen during the half of the episode right after the death of Missandei - Jon is just a doormat - Arya is just a deus ex machina to make an unexpected twist Unexpectedness - isn’t necessarily good. Especially, when it’s not logical and moreover when it’s making many plot holes. It seems like writers didn’t get this point clear.

Jon can’t be Azor Ahai imo. He doesn’t really fit the prophecy that well when you look into it. It’s most likely Daenerys in the books since she literally fits all 7 parts of it, the lightbringer part is questionable though but her dragons have been described to be like flaming swords back in ACOK. Anyway they did ruin Jon though.

They forget about stuff that happened last episode, imagine seasons behind... Basically everyone (that doesn't have plot armor) is killed at the winterfell battle, next episode she still has a pretty huge army of unsullied, wich were the ones holding it all up and unable to retreat Ballistas on the sea with waves and shit land 3 consecutive shots at a dragon 2km away flying at 200m/s, next episode 30 wall mounted ballistas and 20 ships can't fire a single shot at a dragon flying straight towards them

After they gave his relationship with Brienne just one episode after they've been building it up since season 3. Who does that???

I can see the need for speeding things up because there's a lot to finish up. That's bullshit. Adapting a Novel for TV most of the times ends with bad TV series. (Or movies) The producers / directors for GoT did a good job in adapting the source for TV and you have to give them the credits here. There are only two things that went wrong. GoT surpassed the novels which means that there was less guidance for the general story. Plus the producers decided that they should wrap GoT with one season. I like the themes of the last season, they simply had to rush it...

Yes, they may have done a good job adapting the original plot through S6 but then they proved they have zero ability in creating their own original content, which is exactly what writers SHOULD be good at

@@thisissostupidqsdfva I meant they had to rush the story because they only had 6 episodes left. I agree that they didn't hat to rush finishing GoT which got them in the situation in the first place. You can't seriously expect the show writers to deliver a story as good as was Martin wrote. The first book was published in 1996, he works on the current one for multiple years. The show releases annually, they have one year to work with... It's a bit of a dilemma. It probably would be better for the show to wait for the books to be finished but then, many would complain about a year-long gap between seasons.

@@mikeblue1622 I think GRR stated that they had meetings for weeks to determine the story for the last two seasons. But yeah, that's probably the source of the issue. Good example for this might be fullmetal alchemist. The first anime is regarded as not-good because they surpassed the source material. THe second one is highly acclaimed because it was adapted after the mangas were finished. (afaik) The reason I argue with you guys here is simply that I don't like hate trains. I don't like that now people pop up and criticize stuff that is actually ok. For instance the way that Daenerys and Tyrion are portrait. The issue is not how they behave, the issue is that the character development was rushed in a few episodes.

Tyrion: Idiot who failed and betrayed Daenerys on every step actually gets his wits back. Brann: ubiquitous and omniscient, who doesn't want anything, becomes king. Yet still needs info from other 'advisors'. Jon: Kills the Queen and lives without Drogon instantly killing him. GreyWorm: actually lets Jon live, after he killed the woman who freed him, brought him Missandei. Daenerys Targareon: S1 - S8E4, becomes a respected Khalessi, becomes a Mother of Dragons, frees the Unsullied, frees the slaves, becomes Queen of Mareen, makes Tyrion her hand, becomes Queen of Khals, ends ALL slavery, frees Iron Islands, chooses to not attack Kings Landing while having a massive advantage and 3 Dragons, saves all humanity from White Walkers. Defeats the Euron's Iron Fleet and destroys all Scorpions with 1 Dragon and makes Lannisters armies surrender. S8E5 - after winning, chooses to slaughter a whole city of innocent with fire, while not once aiming for the person who ordered her best friend to be killed. Seems Legit...

Had to do with how they wanted to do the episodes. They were going to be very expensive. You can see 8.3 and 8.5 in all its visuals, CGI, stunts and production. They allocated for less episodes but to make them how they wanted it. We now have seen how these turned out. So much for quality over quantity.

I'm mad that they tried to force incredible good written characters into the worst executed death scenes in movie history. D&D: Daenerys kind of forgot about the Iron Fleet... BUT WAIT, THERE'S MORE! 1. Daenerys kind of forgot that she didn't want to be the Queen of Ashes or anything like her father, so she burned them all. 2. Tyrion kind of forgot that he hated his sister, so he pleaded with her to save herself and her child in Episode 4 by surrendering. 3. Cersei kind of forgot that she hired Bronn to kill Tyrion and wanted him dead, so she called off the archers. 4. Cersei kind of forgot that she doesn't really care about the people of King's Landing and there would be no consequences for straight up killing Tyrion, Daenerys, and Drogon right outside the city gates in Episode 4, so she practiced good restraint and let them live. 5. Jaime kind of forgot that he killed King Aerys II to save the people of King's Landing, so he told Tyrion that he never really cared about the people. 6. Brienne kind of forgot her code of honor, so she agreed to premarital sex with Jaime. 7. Cersei kind of forgot that she hired Bronn to kill Jaime, too, so she embraced him just before death. 8. Euron and all the ballista operators kind of forgot how to aim their ballistas, so they all got wrecked by Drogon. 9. The Dothraki kind of forgot that they went extinct in Episode 3, so they led the charge into King's Landing in Episode 5. 10. The Unsullied kind of forgot that they lost half of their entire force in Episode 3, so they decided to respawn for Episode 5. 11. Euron kind of forgot that he anchored his fleet several miles away from King's Landing, so he decided to swim to the exact spot where Jaime ended up, and still had the energy to fight him. 12. The Mountain kind of forgot that a dagger through the head is fatal. 13. Every piece of armor in Westeros kind of forgot how to deflect pierce and slash attacks.

Dexter's ending was way worse though. As rushed as the last season or so was and as terrible as the writing has been there were so many aspects that were exceptional (the score, acting, effects, and cinematography all being particularly good), I absolutely wouldn't say the same of Dexter's ending.

Tyrion s1 : slaps joffrey Tyrion s2 : slaps joffrey and saves the city until tywin arrives Tyrion s4 : kills his father and the woman he loves Tyrion s8 : begs cersie to surrender so she wont die even though she hates him and wanted to kill him

@@LiberatedMind1 he used to be so smart and had such a greater role but in s7 and s8 he didn't do anything but begging dany not to attack KL when they are litterally at war . To bad they ruined such a great character that is played by a great actor

@Sam A3 yes , he knows that his sister is selfish bitch ( since s1and before ) and yet he begs her to to give up on the throne to save the people

In the Books he is literally yearning to kill her and says so more than once while he’s in Essos.
