Today's video brings me genuine joy because it brings to a conclusion something that started a long time ago. In fact, it was seven years ago that I first saw, fleetingly, this striking, third generation Silvia RS coupé in traffic. Those few short moments were enough to set off flashbacks and thoughts of when I'd see it again, until the present day. Imagine my surprise when I finally saw it parked, and accessible, at a convenience store.
The Silvia is in fair condition, though the passenger side has regularly been exposed to the elements over the last 20 years leaving the lower sections with aggressive rust. It's also attracted a lot of decoration over the years, some of which is explained in the video.
Mechanically, it seems in good working order. The owner takes a generous amount of time warming up the FJ20 DOHC 4 cylinder engine before setting out. And, while I'm not sure how many kays it has done, the yellow coupé only sees use on weekend outings. Well, except for that time that he drove it from Fukuoka to Chiba, on the regular roads (i.e. NOT the express ways) to see his beloved soccer team, Giravanz Kitakyushu, play in the J3 grand final.

I always see one white one here in Finland at a body shop I go to, it hasn´t moved yet but at least it has been restored. The fenders were all made of rust, they´ve been completely rebuilt. Mitsus never really lasted long here because of the error with the rust proofing, they were shipped here with the rust protection for Australia. I think there is about 2 Starions in the whole country D:

@@artoodiitoo Yeah here in Turkiye the only Starions I have seen either came in from europe, or oil rich mid-east arab countries, they were never sold here, I havent seen one in person in the last 10 years I think. Sad. :( One of my cousin had one he bought from a expat who brought it from germany I think and made it local, my cousing had about 1990-95is time fram, I drove in it many times, wide body, pristine condition, white, than younger, it seemed like a fighter jet to me. :)

Damn what a crazy story! I can't believe you found it after 7 years! i would've called that car gone, either junked or being used and riced out by a kid in the US as his drift rocket. I'm glad it's having a happy life with his old owner and still with a bright future on it. Also even after all their flaws, it's awesome that you can still live without internet in Japan. That's crazy. Western society is forcing you so much on using your phone nowadays for simple tasks is not even funny anymore. Thank you for the video Daniel! I hope you are having a good time 😊

I hope he keeps the writing and other personalized touches when its restored. I like a car with history. My wagon came with an assortment of Masonic badges and a St. Louis airport department of defense parking sticker I still keep. A guy as a gas station asked me if I was a mason pointing at the stickers. I said no, but the car was. Apparently I was too young to qualify for some of them. He was quite upset.
