These wonderful people have made our time in Sri Lanka one to remember so we felt it was right to give something back. We head to India on our travels for the next 7 weeks so we're super excited to explore a new country and document the entire journey! Goodbye for now, Sri Lanka. See you in India!

Many foreigners coming to Sri Lanka get confused when they see "dolphin kottu" on the menu. Needless to say no dolphins are killed or eaten on the island, & which will land you behind bars if you do so. I believe the name comes from the method of preparation , which is different from a standard kottu. The sesame seed sweets are known as thala guli but what a wonderful local family that you met in Negombo. I was especially impressed with the daughter who was so well spoken & confident, while the parents despite their handicap being so cheerful. A great way to end your trip.

They should put the "No Dolphins were harmed in making this Kottu" disclaimer in the menu. 🤣
