Our Portuguese Homestead

Our Portuguese Homestead

Күн бұрын

This week we have a look at some of the things we have done over the years to turn this piece of overgrown abandoned land into our dream off-grid homestead. This is by no means everything we have done though, there is lots of repetition and just the general mundane of life. But we love it here, and love to share some of it with you.

New here? My name is Lea and I live with my partner Maarten, our toddler Puck and baby Bo on our land in Central Portugal. We left the rat race in the Netherlands in 2018 and moved south in our old campervan. Two years ago we bought land in Portugal that had been abandoned for several decades. After lots of hard work we now live in a beautiful yurt and keep ourselves busy growing our own vegetables as well as producing olive oil, wine and honey on a small scale. This channel documents all the different jobs we have to do, and sometimes some nice footage of this beautiful country we now call home.

I SO APPRECIATE YOUR SHOWING 4 YEARS WORTH OF hard WORK AND HOW THINGS ARE IN REALITY. I will share your bit of reality with others who have little or no idea what homesteading from scratch can be like. You have worked so hard for your land and children. What a bounty of goodness you have enabled to grow and flourish. I wish you endless years of joy, fun, humor and love to go with all your work, planning and purposeful acquisitions of more land, implements and goodness. You have certainly earned your view. You and your children have created a strong solid foundation and memorable history together to share for the rest of your lives. Amen to the source of all goodness. Blessings to you. I send smiles and hugs to all.

I cant stress enough being able to raise children in an environment like this is priceless for their development. They are being given knowledge so far above what any institution could give. What the last 2 / 3 years or several decades if your awake in the west should of taught us. Is that trust in govt and it's institutions and corporate power has destroyed the west. Living like this connected to the earth is how we are supposed to live. How we are designed to live. Here is the kicker we have the right to live on the land we were born with that right. We have given that sovereignty away..... To govt, to police, to the courts. 2023 people if you value freedom at all do not accept the digital ID, it's a trap. They are going offer benefits at the start to join , don't do it we have many following us who will be enslaved to this system for god knows how long. Stand your ground people and believe in community, friends, family if your lucky and your own sovereignty and above all stop watching MSM.

But you braved the challenge, even with a toddler and later, a baby. The painstaking work of your hands has been blessed with success! Beautiful land! Getting water on your property is essential. Hello Lea, Maarten, Puck and Bo! It is terrific to catch up with all of you! I've missed your videos. Bo is a blonde version of his big sister Puck... love that her hair is still the same colour! I remember the episodes when you put up the Yurt and when you put up your summer kitchen with all those luxuries. I was sorry to hear about CeCe. She was very lucky to have found you!! I had a chuckle at the chickens digging around the digger! The best honey I ever tasted, I bought in Portugal. It's work to keep Bees... I'm glad you decided to do that. My goodness those grapes looked divine! I'd eat them all. Had to laugh when Maarten said it was like champagne!! The property is absolutely gorgeous... and well done on those terraces. Strimming is so much work, but the reward is incredible.
