As a suggestion: We pipe smokers are not only interested in the finished product, but how it is actually made. Why not make a string of series of the making of pipe tobacco? Growing, mixing, blending, toppings etc? Why not take a big, big dive right in the pipe tobacco industry for a closer look? And living in Kentucky you are certainly right in the middle of it. The Missouri Meerschaum factory in Washington MO is pretty cool. I think they may do tours of the actual factory, not sure, but they also have a small museum area and some blends and lots of pipes!

I have been wishing to have you pay a visit to Paul’s Pipe Shop in Flint Michigan. Perhaps you have made a visit already but there is something about a shop that has been in business for as many decades as Paul’s. I have three grandfathers who went to Paul for their needs so I followed in their footsteps recently to begin my journey. Historical place for sure, now run by Paul’s son. I believe they have the largest collection of pipes, museum. A visit comes with a nice meal on me😊

Columbus pipe show! August 18 and 19. There’s always a few YTPC regulars there. I enjoy this show as much or possibly a little more than the Chicago show.

Paul’s pipe shop and museum has been open in Flint MI since 1928. It was started by Paul Spaniola a 5 time world pipe smoking champion. It’s run today by his son Dan. It’s a must see for any pipe smoker!

I'm sure you already know about L.J Peretti in Boston Ma. Get Piped did a great video about them. I went a few weeks ago and it did not disappoint. Boston is rich in history and this place should be a pipe smokers Mecca.

There's a small but very well stocked true tobacconist shop here in Denver, Colorado called Edward's Pipe and Tobacco. It's been around since the 1960's and they have several of their own blends they make here as well as a great collection of other tobaccos and pipes. The staff are great too, very friendly and very knowledgeable and the older gentleman that runs it has been there for decades. It's my go to shop here and where I bought my first pipe after stumbling across your videos! Whatever you and yours get up to though I'll be happy to see it, keep up the great work!

I'm fairly new to the pipe and pipe smoking and just watched this video. Fort Wayne Indiana has Riegel's Pipe and Tobacco shop. They actually have three shops around Fort Wayne. I don't remember how long Riegel's has been around, but it's been many, many years. You have been exceptionally helpful to me as I've got into pipe smoking and enjoy your channel and the Muttn-Journeys episodes. Appreciate you sharing your knowledge and experiences.

I think it would be interesting if you found someone harvesting a native wood and follow it from timber to pipe. You are so thorough and offer up amazing explanations it would be interesting.

It certainly wouldn't be local but Gawith Hoggarth in the UK is one of very few still manufacturing rope tobacco. It'd be fantastic if there was a way to do a How It's Made for their rope and plug tobacco, that would be an incredible way to document some history that is becoming more and more obscure.

The Squire Tobacconist in Charleston WV has a pretty awesome selection of pipes, tobaccos and cigars. They have a nice little smoking room attached. It’s not a Boswell’s but for Charleston WV, it’s impressive.

The Wharf, Beavercreek Ohio. They've been around for 40+ years and have some great house blends and a wonderful selection of pipes and cigars as well as accessories. I'll even meet you there! They also have a Pipe Club that meets every first Monday of the month.

Since you’re in central Kentucky you can probably easily visit these locations in Tennessee: the Gatlin Burlier (Gatlinburg), BriarWorks (Columbia), and The Humidor (Murfreesboro).

Pipes by George, and Davis and Sons Tobacconists, located in Raleigh and Wilmington, NC. They are both great pipe centered shops with lots of history and great owners.

In the Chicago area, Arlington Pipe & Cigar Lounge in Arlington Hts, IL, added on a pipe section in the last few years. They have a shop with great selections of cigars, pipes, tobaccos and all the accessories you might want. They are easy to look up online and they will be happy to talk to you further about a future Muttnchop Journey.

Well, the best location near me is J.M. Boswell's which you already visited. I agree with many of the previous commenters that it would be interesting to see pipes and/or tobacco production. The key will be to have fun and enjoy the journey. Whatever you decide we will all watch and appreciate it I'm sure.

I live in South Eastern Kentucky and I am a big fan of Paul's Pipe Shop in Flint Michigan. Right now there is road work going on in front of the store but, the store is open.

There are some historical places in Virginia that still do the whole process of growing tobacco in the old style. Curing, prep., etc. Neat for us history buffs.

Branch away from only pipe related destinations. Top request would be Mammoth Cave National Park. Take us around and down into the cave.

If you ever make it to New England and especially up to New Hampshire, we have a pipe shop called Happy Jacks in Laconia. It’s a small shop but they have house blends which so far the ones I have tried are great. Laconia is a town right on Lake Winnipesaukee with lots of shops, restaurants, beaches, etc.

I was in fort Wayne Indiana a while back and came across reigels cigar shop. Bought his middle earth blend and man it is probably my favorite now. Right next to the country squire shepherd's pie.

I'd love to see a Visit to The Country Squire in Jackson Miss. and Missouri Meersham Company.

Recently discovered Jon’s Pipe Shop in Champaign, Illinois. They have in-house unique blends that they do in the back of their store, which includes an american balkan style and a 50% smooth latakia blend. Lots of pipes as well and plenty of name brand tins. This is an old school pipe shop that I was blown away to discover on a recent business trip. If you go let me know as I would love to go back.

I wish I knew of some places for you to visit the only one I've been to is the one in Bloomington, IN but would love to have a list of places to visit. In the meantime I'll try to think of some places. I do know there is a little store in Floyds Knobs, IN called The Office but they are mainly for cigars. Keep up the great work.

I know of a pipe show event coming to Smitty’s Cigar lounge in Gainesville GA. July 29th they have lined up several vendors and one of the blenders from the country squire attending and bringing some blends. Maybe might be worth a look into. I’m definitely going

Christie's House of Pipes and Cigars in Waynesboro, PA. Eric Christie apprenticed under Richard Johnson (owner of the now gone Johnson's Pipe Shop that used to be in Carlisle, PA). He makes pipes and custom blends including some that originated at Johnson's.

Boda Pipes and Cigars in Greenville, SC is a nice spot. I have a furnished apartment nearby that you’re welcome to use if you make the trip - or just when passing through. I’ll second the Country Squire suggestion, as well as Cornell and Diehl. I enjoy the journeys.

McCranies pipe shop in Charlotte is a classic. Old school pipe shop in a Tudor style shop!

Kraemer's Pipe Store in Louisville is always interesting. Here in Owensboro, Swedish Match (formerly Pinkerton Tobacco) makes some pipe tobacco. I think that's where Granger is made.

The Pipe Rack in Akron, Ohio. Amazing pipe store with a full line of their own house blends. The 790 Highland is not to be missed. PM me if you make it this way and I'll point you to some uniquely Ohio eateries.

My local shop in San Antonio is Club Humidor. They have a good tobacco selection, a small pipe selection, and some decent house blends. Though they mainly sell cigars, it might be a nice place to stop in on your way to the Riverwalk or the Alamo

Florida is a little chaotic atm, but Ybor (pronounced E-Boar) City is an old cigar/tobacco town. Some of the factories still handmade and hand roll their products. That would be a great place to go through on your Journeys.

There is the Appleton Souvenir and Cigar shop in Appleton Wisconsin. The have hand made pipes and blend house blends there. It is mainly a cigar lounge but is one of if not the only place left where you can smoke in the establishment left in Wisconsin to my knowledge. If you go there I would love to meet you. There is also a new brick and mortar store in Janesville, Wisconsin called the happy piper.

Leaf and cedar in Louisville, Schwab's Pipes N Stuff in Lexington are my two favorite places to visit.

I have read the suggestions below and I think they are all fine. Would you consider reaching out to some of the other presenters such as the pipe cottage and do those down to earth type of folks is something we all would be interested in.

In Quincy IL there is an Odd Fellows lodge that has a cigar humidor as a secret door to their smoking area/lodge. Also in St Louis Mo there is John Dengler Tobacconist which is an amazing place.

I think a great thing for you to do is to see the Thursday Night Pipe Group done by Dr. Jerry Root. He has been a prof (Wheaton Collage) and a world renown speaker of CS Lewis and his group has grown to 27 groups around the world. He is amazing friends with so many people, Malcom Guite - another pipe smoker. It would be brilliant, and his son has another group right next door. Just a thought.

Try The Pipe Rack in Akron, OH! Great place with some nice aromatic house blends. Last time I was in, I picked up some Balkan Sobranie and enjoyed some wonderful conversation in their overstuffed leather chairs :)

The Tobacco Trader in Los Angeles, I think it may actually be Culver City, just north of the LAX. Not humongous but they do have a lot of pipes and cigars. It's a legitimate tobacco shop, not a vape shop. Very rare in these parts.

also there is a 3 store chain in Alabama= The Cigar Room. The first one in Madison, though limited selection for pipes. The chain owner primary runs this one. 2nd one in Florence. Much larger pipe/accessories selection. Managed by someone extremely knowledgeable/dedicated to pipes. 3rd one in Guntersville recently opened. Maybe do a "Southeastern Tour" between the Carolinas, Georgia, Florida and Alabama with the stores, manufacturers, processors, etc. mentioned throughout the comments?

Just discovered, The Smokers Abbey in Gallatin TN. You might be interested in going. I heard yesterday that they have a pipe smokers club that meets every Tuesday at 7 pm. I'm hoping to attend soon.

You need to go to Milan’s Tobacconist In Roanoke Va. Its been around since like 1912. Tons of good house blends and good selection of pipes. Even if you don’t go you should try some of their tobaccos. I really like their colonial pastime, sunset rum and diplomat those are just a few of my favorite I’ve ran into so far

I personally would be really interested in a deeper dive into the specific kinds of tobacco. I think it would be really interesting if you could set up like a factory tour and an interview with a Kentucky tobacco grower and kind of show what the whole deep fired Kentucky process is all about, and give us a sense through the interview process of the kind of dedication to quality and all the complexity that goes into making deep fired Kentucky tobacco. As pipe smokers I think many of us appreciate the finer things, and highlighting the quality seems like it would fit well and is probably doable since you have a large following and would make for a good public relations opportunity with the tobacco grower.

Show us how they grow that good old Kentucky Burley!!!!!

Well if you ever find yourself in North Florida, I'd be happy to bring you to my local tobacco shop! They have a decent pipe collection and sell house brand tobaccos along with commercial cigars and stuff. But the draw for me and my brothers is the Friday and Saturday night hang outs on the overstuffed leather furniture and shooting the breeze with other pipe and cigar lovers. And smoking all the time, of course! Be well!

B&b tobacconist located in asheville nc up in the mountains with a small but vibrant tobacconist. Or casablanca our local cigar bar that you relax in a more upscale environment with a catador unfortunately not as pipe related but still a good side expedition

Low Country Pipe and Cigar in South Carolina, who is affiliated with Smokingpipes could be an idea. You could go to their store, and I know they used to give tours of the warehouse right down the road from there.
