Yes, we already live in a vacation destination. BUT this does not mean that we don't deserve to get away every now and again. A few days with no meals to cook no housework, no animals to clean and feed, and no plans and NO STEPS!
A few days to relax and enjoy a different view does everyone the world of good no matter where they live.
So we decided to head back to Ischia, but the weather had other ideas.
Our ferry was cancelled and we had to try again the next day.
This led us to reminisce about all the other times we have gone to Ischia only for something to go wrong!
We stayed at the beautiful Giardini di Ravino in Forio: www.ravino.it for 4 nights.
In 2019 we stayed at the Relais Bijoux near Ischia port: www.relaisbijouxischia.it

Ah, beautiful, glad you got to go. The actor Stanley Tucci did a CNN series called Searching for Italy and one of his favorite places is Ischia. You looked like you had the place to yourselves there. What a great cactus garden. I can see why you would want to live there on Ischia, just have to mind the volcanic activity and earthquakes. Have a wonderful week, ciao

Some pepper trivia in case you are interested: The Peruvian pepper tree (Schinus molle) is the source of pink peppercorns while black pepper comes from the fruit of a vine (Piper nigrum). They're also in different plant families despite both being called "pepper." And Carlo, if you happen to read this, give Holly a pat for me!

A beautiful place to visit, but I don't think I would want to move there and live on an active volcanic island. Kind of scary. I love it that you both always take Holly with you on trips. She is so precious and very lucky to have such a loving mommy and daddy. I wish I could travel someplace exotic. :-( Enjoy your vacation!

Ischia looks like an enchanting place. I would be unable to live there with the volcanic activity and earthquakes. So I think the locals must be very special people.

Thank you for sharing your past episode in Ischia, i never expected that i could tour Ischia in your channel. A year ago, I was attracted one of photo of The island , draw it by myself, had no idea it’s quite close until you show it to us. Every single path you are making is hidden gem to us. Wonderful to know the beauty of Italy through these profoundly informative and beautifully depicted vlogs! What an extraordinary spot you have shown us. (And we didn't even see you eat a thing!) A horticultural thrill for me, to see a caper tree with its bloom and fruit . It is the best magic ingredient in my version of potato salad - pickled capers, among other things. Glad that the weather cooperated so that you could make the trip. I realized after watching this video that we need to start looking at schedules for the ferry to Capri and Amalfi for our visit in late May. Hopefully the ferries are running. Great job as usual.
