I love playing with foil, but I've always struggled with needing to print something first which means I can't just add accents to my planner or card projects. This freestyle quill solves that problem, and then some! Check out my first impressions to see what this awesome little pen can do!

It works really well with faux leather book covers. The trick is you gotta press hard but not too hard and slow so it transfers solid. When you tape the foil down its gotta be really tight and smooth.

Foil all the things!!! Glad to see the review. I've been tossing up between this one and the silhouette one. Could it be plugged into a phone charger or portable charger? Guessing the usb is only for power?

Ha.. I think I will be now! I think this one is easier to use... and can go in more places.. but if you are a big silhouette user then maybe go that way. I am pretty sure it could be plugged into any kind of USB power source..

Ha.. I might be after this! I think if you have a silhouette and you use it often, then that one is fantastic. But for me, who just likes to add a pop here and there.. this is much easier. I am pretty sure it can be used in any USB style charger. I just had my laptop handy! Have fun!

I have my cricut, and want to do hot foil on my son's wedding invitations, without buying a lazer printer, I am willing to try this. I already have a design I want to use, can I print that and trace it to baking paper and use the pen tool to foil on?

Hi Lynda, Sorry for the late reply. if you have a Cricut, what kind? you can get the foil tool for that and use the Cricut so you dont have to go freehand! ;D

You are so cute, that was soo cool! ❤️👍🏼😉 P.S. Have you ever tried goo-gone? That stuff is magic, you need to get some and get all the sticky stuff off of your Scissors. It’s great for store labels, gum, you name it, AND It’s made from orange rinds and smells great. Any hardware store or Walmart. ❤️👍🏼

The We R Memory Keepers ones only really work with their own foils. I might need to do some investigating as to if these work with other ways of foiling. Stay tuned!
