i definitely agree with aiden in regards to melee feeling like it's lost / gone past an era where people primary play next to each other. When i first started playing I really enjoyed going out to far away events, joining smashfests and hitting up locals to practice and play. Nowadays, it feels like there's less people seeking out events and even less people hosting them. regionals and stuff will always be there but the environment is a little different.

I have 2 theories: the first is that the channel with the ai images for video essays Ludwig mentions is Horses, the second is that Horses is a successful KZfaqr's secret channel, doing what Lud did for OnlineLore. During the WGG broadcast when Pat was asked if he played for OpTic, it wasn’t only an issue that he was asked if he played under them and he was the end all rival for OpTic. But he also had his contract as well as his teammates bought as well, only for them to stay with OpTic and him being the only one acquired and thereafter dropped on his head.

It doesn't have to do with betting on the matches, but there was a massive match fixing scandal in ultimate in 2019. From what i understand, it involved Ally throwing matches against Zackray under instruction from CaptainZack, who Ally was in a pretty weird relationship with.
