So what you’re trying to say is, it’s pronounced bruh?

This reminds me so much of when I was in Flippin, Arkansas. They have everything from the Flippin Police to the Flippin Church of God.

Bro is Swedish for bridge. short B, short but rolling R, and a short O.
@alexisfonjallaz72377 жыл бұрын
It's a long 'o' actually, pronounced a little like the 'oo' in 'loo'. :)
@tusenbensen3347 жыл бұрын
Alexis Fonjallaz wouldn't that be "bru" in Norwegen phonetics? that doesn't seem right?
@tibfulv6 жыл бұрын
+Tusenbensen English doesn't have the exact equivalent of that phoneme, afaict. It's a close back rounded vowel. And its proper IPA representation is indeed /bruː/. You may be thinking of the near close central rounded vowel with deceptively similar spelling in 'bru' (IPA /brʉː/)

In case you need some more fun Swedish translations Good = Bra Chef = Kock (Bridge) = Bro
@celinathommesen-kahler21425 жыл бұрын
Another word for chef is cook, which sound like "kuk". So each language's word for "chef" means "penis" in the other.

This reminded me of the time our tour guide in Ireland drove out of the way to a town called Muff just so they could take a picture in front of the sign and say they'd driven into Muff 🤦🏽♀️
