@@joelbarish As if that would actually fix the fuckin' system lmao. Boycotting your right to vote is not the same as boycotting Chick-fil-A. It won't do anything except make the situation worse. Acting as if the system being corrupted is the reason why you shouldn't participate in it is a lazy rationalization and anyone with half a brain cell knows it. The problem is that you don't know it, because you're on the bottom half of the bell curve that is below average. Remember folks, think of the average person. Think of the most average, middle of the road, mediocre person you can think of. Then realize that half of the people on this planet are dumber than that. That should put things into perspective for you. The only way for evil to win is for good people to do nothing. Make sure you vote, because the people who want to screw you over have historically been motivated enough to exercise their right to vote.

@@jaredhansen5364a lot of things he says are said for fun (he is a comedian after all) there’s plenty of cool white guys (these two have been watching videos of them), true there’s nothing cool about wearing a baseball cap backwards, but it doesn’t look cool on anyone (except perhaps to a child), I don’t get this obsession with putting ourselves down and bumming up others, the problem with that, is idiots like these actually believe it.

It's amazing how the confidence trick of pretending the two parties are different and that one is better than the other still works. I think maybe its breaking down now, and that's why there's so much censorship and new laws making it incredibly difficult for anybody else to get on the ballot now, but it's really shameful that it has worked for so long.

It's hard to complain about people voting for unqualified politicians when George Carlin's ancestors were the ones that rigged the system for the so called "educated and bright Americans" to never take office. There are a thousand and one reasons why politics in this country are a null-sum game. Carlin never understood it. He had so many anarchist policies without ever committing to actual anarchism. It's the only point I ever disagreed with him about, and it makes him come across as hypocritical.

Always warms my heart to see younger people find George. I grew up on him. I first remember him when I was about 10yo (late 80s). I’m genx (my apologies). The boomers he’s talking about here were the true og boomers (babies born post WWII, 50s basically). The term boomer has been changed to a mentality lately. Here’s the reality (speaking for America) and why George is so prophetic, because history repeats. The boomers had it better than their kids (genx), gen x had it better than their kids (Millenial-genz etc), and in the future more than likely millennial/genz sadly will have had it better than their kids. This is speaking economically, not socially. Socially we have trended the other direction (in spite of bigots best efforts). At the time George recorded this, most gay people worldwide had to be in the closet and trans people were unheard of or mostly thought of as drag or “transvestites”. Literally the public en mass had no clue of them, good or bad. What happens to most people is that everyone feels as if they worked for what they got. This is why a boomer can’t understand how easy they had it. And that narcissism makes them look down on everyone who has less or says they have it tougher. As you get older, most get more narcissistic and bitter. This is “boomer brain”. I’ve seen it happen to many of my generation. As you guys get older, if you stay real and self-aware, you’ll probably see it in others of your generation. Sorry I went long. Keep the GC coming!

Hey Elie & Carol, I thought I'd suggest a new artist to give a listen, if interested. (By the way, this artist's name is also the band's name. It was quite common to have band names be the same name as the frontman or lead singer of the band/group.) Anyway, I thought I'd introduce you both to some "grunge rock", if interested. "Pearl Jam - Black (Unplugged) - Subtitlulos" (by the channel: Leo Terreros) --Pearl Jam played a significate role in pioneering the grunge rock movement. Alongside bands like Nirvana and Sound Garden they helped to popularize the music. And as always, I enjoyed rocking with you both. Thanks for sharing. peace out~

70s COMICS SWEAR A LOT!!! LET IT SLIDE. The GREAT comics tend to be pre 2000 exception Jim Gaffigan and a few others noted. Just like great songs pre 2000. Steven Wright (Dead Pan Comedy 90s). Classics - Roger Dangerfield, Johnathon Winters, Phillis Diller, David Steinberg. Nods to Dave Chapelle, Norm Macdonald, Eddie Griffin. Lots of great comedy, but its hit and miss and otherwise mostly personalities or tV show personas. The classics were comedy geniuses. I may have missed a few, but these listed will get you into some great American comedy in addition to George Carlin.

George is often anointed with prognosticating abilities but there are those among us, who have often told the truth about what they see. If you've never truly understood how many people view the Ronald Reagan Era in the USA, 1980ish this is what he is referring to. Making money with no social conscience and portraying it as a virtue.
