This is from the Meteora album cycle. They are going to release a 20 year album in April. Lots of old demos and (pun intended) lost songs. Side note: it took me about 3 seconds into this song to be like-yep-this is home!

This song is like the last voicemail we didnt realize was waiting for us after Chesters passing. Its fucking HAUNTING. I don think ill ever stop listening to this song. The voicemail that will never be deleted. I believe everything happens for a reason, and this song was not released for a reason. This song was Chester speaking to his fans posthumously, only he didnt realize it at the time. The lyrics hit different and have so much more impact now.

@@homerogarza3060You misunderstood his comment. He was saying that we was unintentionally writing a suicida note. This was recorded in 2003, 14 years before his passing. Yeah, when I heard "I'm trapped in yesterday" he could've meant that he can't get over his trauma as a kid, which scarred him for life, but in this context he's trapped in yesterday because he's a ghost of the past that we're never gonna get back. He's gone from us now...

Lost was cut from Meteora. Mike called it the last song cut from the album before release. Mike also said he barely touched the songs dug up for the 20 year anniversary Meteora release. Very little remastering or mixing. It's beautiful. If I had the money I'd be buying the anniversary release. There's HOURS of behind the scenes videos and unreleased/incomplete songs. I love Linkin Park. Hybrid Theory was the first CD I bought with my own money.

I was doing okay, proud for not crying this time listening to this and then Kyle started and now it's waterworks over here. I genuinely loved Chester, as a friend... which is insane and NEVER have I felt that close to a total stranger before. But, was he? He was my voice through the WORST times in my life. Getting shot at by my dad on Christmas; Suffering through an abusive step father; suffering through an abusive husband that abused me for years because he was secretly gay and took it out on me for eight years; Losing a close person to suicide and being the last person to see them alive, which resulted in a full year of the worst anxiety and depression I've ever felt. Chester was my voice keeping me here, keeping me fighting, keeping me pushing through the shadows to find the light. He, quite literally, LITERALLY, saved me... many times. I miss him so much, I always will. Years later I'm still a mess when I realize he's gone. This song took me a few days to even go near once it was released. I had to prepare myself. Rest in beautiful Peace Chester, you're a hero and a savior to millions. I'm sorry we couldn't save you too buddy :(

When you hear that unreleased music from an artist that has passed is going to come out, there's always that worry that it won't feel the same or wont sound like them. But with this song I had no doubts it would be perfect. Mike and Chester, really everyone in LP, trusted and understood each others artistic vision. You know they made sure any finishing touches were exactly how Chester would've wanted it 💙

I remember saying to a friend quite a few years ago, while we were listening to Linkin Park, "I hope somebody checks on Chester." From day one I could hear the pain and suicide ideation in his singing. I know Mike did a lot of the writing, but I could just feel Chester's pain. I chalked it up to me interpreting the songs to fit my feelings (as we all do with music). I've suffered from depression for a good chunk of my life and survived a suicide attempt. I'm sure he masked his intentions, as many victims of depression do. If you are suffering from depression and have suicide ideation, take it from me... Don't do it. I can't promise you things will get better, but I can guarantee they never will if you aren't around. RIP Chester, you are missed. Kyle and Eric, another great reaction video. Bro I was in disbelief seeing this uploaded that day. Mike really just keeps digging into the deepest parts of their old data he can find to provide us with new LP content is insane, he's so dedicated to us fans, he always has been and I love him so much for it. As for the song, man I cried immediately, not just because hearing Chesters voice sing something I've never heard has been insane, I constantly think, "This has gotta be the last time" but Mike just pulls something out anyway. It's gonna end of course, but the fact that it hasn't, is amazing. The lyrics hit me hard too, as I'm sure many of you feel some sort of depression or anxiety in this day and age, it hits real hard. It's crazy that a posthumous LP song could affect me so deeply but it was as if that song came directly out of my inner feelings. I cried for a while after seeing this release, not only because hearing Chester was emotional, but because those lyrics hittin me.

Chester is right up there with David Gahan, Robert Smith and Morrissey in having such a distinct voice. It’s still so hard to grasp that a voice like that is silent forever. Even this early on in their work, you know this kid was born to do this. And I don’t think if he didn’t have music that he would’ve even made it as long as he did. I always knew how his story ended, from the very first time I saw a video of them. It’s not what’s in a person‘s eyes, it’s what’s missing from them. As a suicide survivor having lost five of my family members and both of my husbands to suicide, you start to recognize the look. I wish he could’ve stayed, but I understand why he couldn’t. It’s a gut punch hearing this and it was meant to an album track for meteora but the label only wanted 12 tracks or something. Maybe it is a blessing in disguise. One last time to hear something new that we wouldn’t have otherwise had if it had been left on as a 13th track. Goddamn that kid had pipes and there was so much honesty in the way he conveyed the pain he was in. I know what it’s like to have an unquiet mind and he said the same thing I told doctors for years, my mind is a very bad neighborhood and not somewhere I should be left alone in for too long. I hope his mind is quiet now because I don’t think it would ever be. Help doesn’t mean we will all be saved. Sometimes it only delays the inevitable. To this day, I’m on 6 month contracts with my doctors. Pleading with me to give them 6 more months before I unsubscribe. It’s a written contract and I’ve had it since I was 12 years old. It has been a very long six months. I’m so glad the band released this, for a moment you can convince yourself he never left. This is the five more minutes those who have lost someone begs for. Just five more minutes. The gods are merciful, they don’t give us five more minutes because we will always ask for five minutes more. You did good, Chester, thank you for allowing us to have you for as long as you did; even on those days when I know it hurt just to breathe. You were a gift for the lonely souls. You will never know how many of us you kept alive. I’m sorry we couldn’t do the same for you.

when I first heard this song I cried my eyes out. When I found out Chester passed it was like I had lost a loved one. I am 27 and I have listened to LP since elementary school.. Just the feeling of hearing something "new" from him was so bittersweet. As well as just the meaning of the song just hits hard after knowing what he was going through.. god I wish I could have just hugged him one time, but I truly hope he knew the inspiration him and his music was on everyone..

I’m so glad I’m not the only one that had this reaction to this coming out. To hear his voice on something we’ve never heard just hits hard! It is something special when they were special to you back then! They got me through sooooo many tough years growing up choosing to still be here everyday. To hear this and hear the words he put into this song just hits different after he passed. Just means a lot to have this!!!! 🥹🥺🫶🏼 🖤 🤘🏼

Now i know i’m not as old as most linkin park fans, but even though I’m 17, linkin meant so much to me. Chester was such a talented and special singer, and the band is very close in my heart, this band was the start to my branch-out to more bands similar to him and further down the rock/metal area. I may not be the oldest fan, but I definitely connected very close to linkin park, love to everyone and to Chester for being someone to help so many of us with our issues. If only we could help him with his, a true legend to so many hearts

I have listened to them since papercut came out. His voice and their music has gotten me through so much. I was pregnant with my oldest when meteora came out. So, songs from that album take me back there. Every time I hear him sing, my heart breaks. This song just shows how hard he struggled with his mental health.

I know how you felt while listening to the song Kyle. When I was listening to Lost, 15 seconds in and I was in tears. It's just too painful to listen to his voice again when you never thought you were ever gonna be able to listen to it in a new song. Chester Bennington's life was short, and probably filled with sadness and loneliness on a personal level. But he did something so great in his short time on this earth. And he will have surely gone to heaven for the sheer joy he gave us through his voice and music.

Their music meant so much and saved so many lives back then, it is like Chester has come back as an angel to save even more lives. Those of us who grew up with LP your faces are all of our reactions while an absolute beautiful masterpiece it is mixed with the pain of who we lost

When I first heard this song it also brought me back as Hybrid Theory was released my Junior year of high school and I was the kid that always felt like I was the outsider in me school. That first album helped me face that I was different, but in the wider world I wasn't alone as the song resonated with me so much. By senior year I started opening up to others and made several friends I still talk too and hang out with. So to me Chester and the boys were my therapy and hearing this song now that I'm in my 40's and feeling burnt out just reminded me I am not alone and that its ok to reach out for help.

Chester was a light for so many of us. Although he shared glimpses of his pain through his music, we never anticipated the way it ended.😭 Now revisiting songs that still echo that pain is heart wrenching. We still miss you Chester, Rest in Peace 💔

Kyle, the amount of emotion you put into this video killed me. I have an attachment to Linkin Park as well. I had the honor of meeting Chester and the guys in 2005. It was the highlight of my life. You put all your heart and soul into music like me. I feel your pain. It sucks. But, I see this as a remembrance of Chester. He was such a pure soul. He overcame so much in his life. He will be remembered. For years to come. Love you brother. You too Eric. Yall keep doing what you're doing. I'll keep supporting. ❤

No celebrity death has ever hit me as hard as Chester's has. I honestly can say that man saved my life. I've had mental health problems all my life and when I was at my end and ready to give up listening to Linkin Park got me to step back from the ledge. Knowing someone was going through the same feelings as me helped me not end it all. I have his death in my Google calendar to remind every year so I never forget what his lyrics did for me. Thank you for your words, they saved at least one life. Sadly, your own words weren't enough to save yourself. RIP.

😢 I miss them so much. I saw them in Madison square garden and the memory is so distant that I can’t even remember much. It’s like a dream or maybe it wasn’t even me because the concert was long but all I remember is seconds. It’s insane what our memories do to us. I wish I could remember the show like a whole movie!

We were blessed with him in our middle school and high school lives, and blessed to have him now echo into our hearts these decades later. And Eric, you’re right man, they are so freaking special. Fuck, my hearts still hurts.
