At the beginning of his career, he was signed to a Christian label. Christian stations didn't like it because "it's too dark and aggressive ". Hip hop stations wouldn't play him because he was a "Christian" artist. It took some legal action to finally release Mansion.

I think a common theme in his songs , is that the critics and industry really overlook him because they think he's a one trick pony. That he can only talk about sad stuff. It's quit literally a tragedy how overlooked he is.

I like how compassionate NF is towards his fans. He has literally stopped his concerts before to make sure a fan was ok. There was one instance where the fog machine was making it hard for someone to breath, he noticed and stopped the show and helped the kid and let him stand back stage.

ok so at 6:23 when NF says "imagine somebody looking at you and saying that your music is the reason that they are alive." this part of the song and of any song hits me so hard, like harder than any other thing in the world, because NF's music, IS the reason I am alive..... around Christmas time of 2022 I had very severe depression but then I started telling myself that I'm not good enough to be here on earth any more but then I found NF and he helped me get though the ABSOLUTE DARKEST time of my life and if I did not fine him and his music then I do not know if I would still be here on earth anymore. so NF is and will always be the BEST rapper out there, because he LITERALLY SAVED MY LIFE.

I want you guys to keep one thing in mind on this journey. If Nate writes about it (whatever it may be) he has lived it and these things have 100% happened. He will never make things up for clout or just to have material. This why his motto is NF real music. He is always, always real. I'm a HUGE NF fan and have watched and read everything there is about him. Also, saw him in concert with my 11 & 13 year old grandsons last Sept. Phenomonal concert! So many families there and such an extremely diverse audience.

Nates music speaks to me as we have similar past full of traumas and mistakes that affected our paths strongly, for me it was foster home with "parents" that abused me for 4 years straight. Many would feel like you but sadly no one can take thase past traumas and hurting away other than themself. Thank you for empathy. I'm well and safe from my own past and have been almost 20 years, just recently went through all of my traumas and got to sort out of them. Weird feeling to feel generally happy and actually have some future plans and hopes. Nates music def helped through all of it and specially "I miss the days"

Been watching you guys on the NF journey. I’m encouraged to see even the little dialogue about faith. I’m 12 years sober and haven’t touched drugs sense then. I have no doubt when addiction got crushed in my life . Dec 10 2010 when I got born again. I appreciate NF because it has helped me to see into the inward life of a lot of people that are struggling with worth, pain and hurt, trauma you name it. He articulates so well the inward hurt and i have realized those that truly can relate to NF they feel like he takes there emotions that are inexpressible and puts them into understandable words. But want to encourage don’t just stop by acknowledging the pain, look at in in the face, take it to Christ open up to a friend and be free from it. NF stirs up a lot of emotions that need to be stared at and delt with. There is freedom in Christ. Don’t want to be preachy but man you don’t only have to be freed outward from drugs and all these things that promise joy but never delivers but also the inward life pain of regret and trauma and hopelessness. Take those inward eyes and come to Jesus and talk to him. Find out if he is real seek Christ and see if He can take a broken person like us and make us whole.

@@zspace2156 be encouraged, it is possible!! There is a quote by AW Tozer which is one of my favorite quotes. “When the eyes of the heart looking out meet the eyes of God looking in, heaven on earth has begun” Paul talks about the eyes of the heart in Ephesians , that he is praying over the Ephesus church that the eyes of there hearts might be enlightened. I believe whoever or whatever wins our fascination when’s our lives. So drugs had my inward eyes always focused on them, parties, girls all sorts of things but when I was honest and realized I was afraid to take that inward gaze and stare straight at Jesus and say, “i think your real but I’m not sure” until I did that I could not overcome anything. Just changed an old addiction for a new one. Be encouraged, no one is too broken for Christ!

This song has a special place in my heart. This was the first song I'd ever heard by NF. I was driving to work at 9:30pm, I worked 10pm-6am, working a shit job at a casino (Dreams has a line that hits me like a truck "Threw away the deck and got my own cards"), and life was at a real low for me. Things were going horribly wrong. I was still using Pandora at that time, and thankfully so, as Pandora sprinkles in random songs mixed with your own liked songs on Thumbprint Radio. This song came on and the drive was just a blur. I kept playing it over and over, eventually winding up being a few minutes late because I sat in the parking lot taking it in. When I got off from work I couldn't wait to listen again. I immediately went to the song, then to seek out what else NF had to offer. I fell in love like I hadn't since I discovered my first favorite band as a small kid, I'm sure you guys know what I mean. I ended up stopping at a park instead of heading straight home, and listened to NF as I walked around. It was such a massive release of emotion and pent up anger, frustration, sadness, guilt, all of it. I believe that was in 2017, and I don't think there's been a day since that I haven't listened to at least one NF song. Like you guys, I'll skip going too deep, but I never understood what people meant when they said "_____ saved my life" when referencing an artist. I fully understand it now. When I listen to NF, I don't necessarily hear Nate. I hear myself, and the emotions I get from the music release all of the negative content in the song, into what I believe to be a healthy yet cloudy, dark aura leaving my body. NF helps me get through life. It sounds like a lot, it sounds dramatic, all that, but it's true.

Glad you guys enjoyed this track. I really appreciate your guy’s candid discussion about sin and grace, especially you Eric for your vulnerability. The beauty of the Christian life is that we do recognize that we will not be perfect and we cannot rid ourselves of sin. That’s why Christ died so that he could impute or “transfer” His own righteousness onto us. He lived the perfect life we could not live, and He died the death we deserved, so that when the Father sees us He sees Jesus, and when He sees Jesus, He sees us. We strive to live like Him the best we can to honor Him and to demonstrate the new life He has given us in Him. Anyway, you guys are awesome and quickly becoming one of my favorite channels because you guys talk about real things and really interact with the music. I appreciate you both!

Another great reaction. I'd really love it if you guys would do a special reaction to "I'll Keep On" from the Mansion album. It is usually not included in "Journey" lists because of the direct religious content (most reactors shy away from or are uncomfortable with that for some reason). To me, it is an essential NF track, because it serves as sort of a testimony on how his Christian faith helps him in his life. Seeing the way the two of you are able to openly talk about your own faith (& even exhibit your biblical understanding), I think that you guys would absolutely love & appreciate the message of the song! 12:11 Well said. Like I've said before in the comments I'm an "atheist". Actually more agnostic than anything but loved hearing your thoughts as Christians, as I have no problems with anyone with faith, until they want others to live by their Dogma. On the same hand non-believers like me can be quick to judge someone based on their faith if they don't live up to our pre-conceived notions of a "good" Christian. My best friend and my brother are Christian and we all get along great, no need to put others down because they hold different views as truths. You can even learn a bit it you really listen! Really enjoy the channel! NF is just amazing, look forward to seeing you listen to more. There are so many lines in his songs so many miss the first time. But that's normal as he is a master of putting in easter eggs or referencing previous tracks or albums.

You guys are amazing! I just have to say that I really respect that you guys are being very vulnerable about your faith or struggling with faith and doing a really great job with the NF journey cuz us huge fans appreciated it. I almost feel like his music reminds me of the book of lamentations where he's just lamenting to God and telling him" hey this is what's going on and this is what I'm struggling with and I don't see you right now".

This was awesome! I saw this pop up on my feed this morning but decided to wait for my lunch break to fully pay attention and I'm glad I did. Your analysis and discussion was so interesting fun, and deep. I think NF is a once in a lifetime special artist. I feel like you might not relate to everything he talks about but am convinced you will related to something he talks about. Unfortunately my dad can't get past the "I don't like rap" to give him a genuine listen, but I know if he could he would get so much out of it. My 3 boys and I took a long trip and listened to all of the NF albums and ranked each song from 1-5, and tabulated the results, it was so much fun.

Awesome your doing another NF reaction, keep them coming! I can’t wait for new music 🎶 and tour!!! Every generation, as someone is older likes and loves there own music from there own time, they sometimes don’t understand why the music 🎶 you love connects to you! NF is the best kind of medicine.🔥

I never comment, only because I never feel the need to. But you two are seriously my now favourite KZfaqrs in this web world. After seeing all your appreciative reactions, real talk and just decency while being real open AND open minded… just 😍 Also having that sprinkle of humour and being able to lighten up some real dark and heavy stuff is amazing - what balance ! Can’t get more wholesome than you two. Much love - I’m absolutely here for it ❤️

Hey guys, first NF reaction of yours that I've come across (actually first video of yours I've seen) and really liked it. I will be checking out more. I'm not a hip hop or metal guy at all but it's so cool how music can bring people together that prefer different genres, and you find common ground instead of always finding the differences in each other, like we seem to do in today's world. Keep up the good work!

what y’all said about christianity…very accurate. i grew up in church my entire childhood and the community (the ones i’ve known at least) are the most self righteous and hypocritical people i’ve met. i’ve told you guys my background. none of them helped me. i mean i’m still a christian! but i absolutely admire what you guys said here!

I love you're reaction videos & especially your NF reactions. This is another 1 that fills me with emotions & gives me the chills. Nate just tells it as it is & it's crazy how he can say all of it without 1 curse word. The 1st time i heard this i actually cried mentioning the domestic violence & the self harming hit hard. I don't know if you've listened to Ill mind of Hopsin 7 but i definitely recommend it, as somebody who isn't religious it's very thought provoking. The next NF you need to listen to is 'How could you leave us' honestly heartbreaking & you'll have to grab a box of tissues. Love you guys ! Blessings from the UK 💜

The word gospel means “good news” but so many Christian’s treat it like a punishment. They really seem to have lost the “my yoke is easy and my burden is light” aspect of Christ’s message. Instead the loudest voices have turned “you will know those who are mine by their deeds” into “all Christian’s must be/do X.” And the X is very rarely to love the Lord your God and then to love your neighbor as yourself. I haven’t been to church in years and I’m still working to deconstruct a lot of the bad theology I was raised with, but I found your interlude about grace very refreshing. Love what you guys do!
