I was married in 2000. The best thing I ever did was go shopping with only by best friend. My mom couldn’t get the ball gown fantasy out of her head and I wanted an easy day, which wouldn’t happen with my family, so they got left at home. People were hurt but they got over it. It's sad tho, how the mom couldn't step up to the aunt, but as why I understand why the bride couldn't, probably because going against trash, controlling people like her when you are small, makes you lose your power to stand up to that person and time can only worsen that, so seeing as the mom spent way more time with her sister, she probably feels that too. It wouldn't be a surprise if it were because their parents fovoured one over the other so the aunt turned out to be that controlling while the mom can't stand up to her... I don't know if it Really was like this, but point is that both the bride and the mom seem like they think they have no power over the aunt

Honestly, when the aunt was grumbling "I'm SOOOO over this, I am ready to go" I would have said "Well, go then. This is MY day and MY dress and I would have appreciated it had you supported me in finding MY vision and not your own. The bride was willing to try both her aunt's pick and her Mom's and she looks STUNNING in the one she chose for herself. Just because it wasn't a pageant dress, the aunt had to be nasty. At least Mom was supportive of her daughter's vision even though it wasn't her pick.

Usually they put the veil on and the bride gets her way. I liked the mother's choice and the girl's choice. I did not like the aunty's choice. Do the entourage members not realise they are ruining what should be a joyous occasion? My sister got married to a Scotsman, who was wearing his kilt, In a castle in Scotland. When my sister chose her dress, it was heavy satin, almost mediaeval, In style, but completely fitted with her husband and the surroundings. She looked so utterly beautiful in her dress, I got emotional. One of the.most stunning weddings I've ever been to. And the memories of all the try ons and fittings were a part of that experience.
