You guys are getting so close to having your forever home built. I sure enjoy watching all the jobs you’re getting done in the process. Thank you for sharing your journey with us. I understand it takes a bunch of extra work but hopefully you are getting some additional dollars in revenue for making your videos. It’s going to be so fun to someday sit down with your Grandbabies and show them all the work you’ve done building your homestead. Well done Family!

I love how you keep the kids involved in every project. Please teach all of them, especially your daughter, what each tool is and how to use it. My father not only built our house but could also do plumbing, heating, electrical & car repairs. What did he teach his kids? ZILCH! Dad focused on my brother’s studies. My brother graduated from a top law school (hint: RFK, Jr. was in his graduating class) but can’t hold a hammer. Dad didn’t think I needed to learn anything but cooking & cleaning. Near the end of his life (b-1923, d-2007) he admitted that his earlier view that only boys needed an education was wrong headed. I’m now a 66 yr old woman living alone in the family home. It infuriates me that I lack the knowledge to make simple home repairs.

So, I had never heard of a Grizzley in the use as shown. Last night I watched a video of a ranch in Montana that is located in Grizzly country. They are indeed different! I am always happy on Sunday mornings when I check in with your channel. I really enjoy seeing the family working & playing together. This was me in the old days. You kids are just wonderful and I hope they continue to love your off-grid life.

Going home Pinterest and look at the PVC chicken feeders and waterers. They are really great. You'll love 'Em, you fill up the waters and it goes down and you buy the chicken nipples from tractor supply. And then all they do is pick the chicken, nickel and nipples, and it water comes out of them and then the feeders you put. For get a four incorrin's pipe, and you cut a 2 and 1/2 inch holes.

I swear I'm not trying to be a troll but that fence .... Coyotes have amazing jumping and climbing skills and that fence poses no problem for them. At least down here in Texas. Maybe others will comment and back me up on this. As for the OSB it will be a great test for the durability of that water sealer. lol I love your videos and having them on Sunday is perfect for me. I can take my time and just enjoy your journey. Your kids are building memories that will last all their lives.

When I was younger and building my first home I used the old bed bases with mesh as the soil sifter, always built at an angle so gravity did the work. A really handy attachment to it was a vibrating motor so the stones were jiggles, made the work faster too. I like how you came up with your own idea, it works well and saves you heaps.

Hello guys love the show and I do not want this to reach you late but try not to use regular elbows if possible use a sweeping elbow This allows waste and fluid to move freely threw lines. Reg. elbows will work but you may get a build-up at those pinch points and if you do place a cleanout tee so you can unclog the pipe either way Good luck. Also if you just put legs on the original metal, you could have used the front bucket and just removed the screen after you got a pile of dirt

I love watching your progress. We are in our 60's now and my husband takes 4 to 5 times as long to accomplish any of our projects. We are just trying to make our living space we framed inside our pole barn that we put in 14 yrs ago into a livable space for just the two of us. All our possessions are in the garage portion of our metal pole barn. I wish I could get him to watch your videos so he would feel motivated to get projects completed. We're basically camping in our building as we do not have our well water plumbed and we have full solar, but also have yet to fully wire our space. We have a few lights, run our refrigerator, freezer and all-in-one Washer/Dryer combo, I hang clothes out on the line to dry except maybe the towels (hubby doesn't like line dried towels! SIGH) and we cook on a camp stove. But now we're looking for a used range so I can bake him things we'd rather not be purchasing!!! Anyways, Just wanted you to know how inspiring your hard working and cohesive family are to at least ME! I always say "be prepared, ye shall not fear" and so, just keep working on it bit by bit!

Why did you cut up the screen? I would have just welded some legs to the back and sloped the entire frame at 33 degrees then just dumped whole backhoe buckets of mixed material on it then drove around to the other side and scooped up the sifted dirt. The rocks would slide down and create a debris pile.

@@aboulderlifeoffgrid A cousin of mine had such a free range for many different types of chickens, but it was completely full and densely planted with old fruit trees - there was no problem with birds of prey. The neighbors without such a dense tree population also had a vertical fence above the enclosure. So - it depends...
