Dont know what jrm does but here’s some general tips for voluminous hair: 1. ask your barber to taper the top. the hair at the back of the top of your head should be slightly shorter than the front. since the hair towards the back lays on top of the hair in front of it, the weight of all your hair really adds up and the back will try to push the front down. 2. following the above logic, when you apply gel/product, getting gel to the back of the top is even more important than the front. again, the hair at the back of the top of your head is what tries to prevent your front from standing up. 3. depending on many factors, use shampoo and conditioner less often. your natural oil will help you style your hair. You still get your hair wet in the shower, just don’t use a cleansing product every day, instead maybe once or twice a week. if you’ve got extra greasy hair or maybe work somewhere dirty, this might not be feasible. 4. use a blowdryer and blow your hair in the direction you want to style.
