New Orleans VLOG Outside The French Quarter | What To Do in City Park: Longue Vue, Botanical Garden, & Beignets!
For our first day in New Orleans, LA we wanted to explore things to do outside of the French Quarter. There are great spots in New Orleans that showcase its beauty and southern charm that we wanted to visit.
In this New Orleans travel vlog, we took a tour of the gorgeous Longue Vue House & Gardens, which is about 15 minutes from the French Quarter. If you're a New Orleans first time visitor, you have to try beignets, which we did when we stopped by Cafe Du Monde in New Orleans City Park. We visited the Historic Train Garden, Japanese Garden, and Butterfly Walk in the New Orleans Botanical Garden then stumbled upon Storyland and the Great Lawn.
Our goal was to dedicate a whole day to places in New Orleans that weren't in the French Quarter. Were we successful? Maybe not as much as we hoped but we had an amazing time trying a Hurricane at Pat O'Brien's and experiencing Dueling Pianos for the first time!

Loved the video! Welcome to my home. There is much better gumbo in New Orleans. I would love to see ya'll do the Cajun swamp tour in LaPlace. It's a few miles outside of New Orleans. Looking forward to upcoming videos. Have fun.

@@thetravelingstewarts The Gumbo Shop is one of my favorites. It's a creole restaurant. If you want to be a little non traditional, I suggest the alligator sausage and seafood gumbo at The Redfish Grill restaurant. Felix's is good as well. I also suggest looking at the coupons in the hotel lobby or really throughout the city. You can get some great deals on restaurants and activities. I'm always looking for a deal😀 Cajun Swamp tour does offer transportation if that is something you might want to try. Try to stay cool. I hope y'all have a great time.

@@user-ut4vl2ps3p Thanks so much! We’ll look into those restaurants. Super helpful tip about coupon books at hotels. We always overlook them but probably shouldn’t; there are probably some good deals in there.
