Oscar (Will Smith), a lowly tongue-scrubber at the local Whale Wash, becomes a hero when he tells a great white lie. I don’t get the comparisons between Shark Tale and Finding Nemo AT ALL. Other than they both take place underwater. Finding Nemo is clearly about a clownfish finding his son, and Shark Tale is about a fish who lied to gain fame and realizes that his lie can only live for so long. Two entirely different plots

Also, The Little Mermaid did the underwater setting first, so if Shark Tale is a ripoff of Finding Nemo just because it's underwater, than Finding Nemo is a ripoff of The Little Mermaid.

Lenny is unironically one of my favorite characters in any animated movie. His development from “coming out” as a vegetarian to a dolphin icon is a pretty hilarious gay metaphor.

I don’t care what people and critics gotta say. Shark Tale is a masterpiece. Though looking back on it as an adult, it is a little cheesy but that doesn’t make the whole movie bad. One of the best things about it aside from the cast, is the soundtrack. I love the whole hip hop thing it had going on. Plus, I feel like I can relate to Oscar.

It’s crazy how this film has director Martin Scorsese, actor Robert De Niro and three sopranos actors, Michael Imperioli who plays Frankie (Lenny’s Brother) played Christopher Moltisanti, Frank Vincent who plays one of the great white sharks played Phil Leotardo and Vincent Pastore who plays Luca (The Octopus) played Big P*ssy. All four actors worked with Scorsese on Goodfellas just 14 years before Shark Tale came out.

Long before being Po in Kung Fu Panda, Jack Black was known as… Lenny. Likewise before reuniting with Angelina where she was Tigress, there was… Lola. As for the voices of the jellyfish, one of them being voiced by Bob Marley’s own son Ziggy? It feels appropriate they started singing one of Bob’s own songs during that scene.

honestly, I know its fun to trash talk this movie, but one cant lie this movie really is funny, whether its a guilty pleasure or a genuinely good time, its enjoyable :D I love how shameless it is, knows no bounds, its all these big shots coming together for this movie to just have stupid fun :D the story is also pretty decent, when its serious it does pretty well :) I rate the bravery, they just went for it and had a blast :D most of these people always do these very serious, grand things, cant fault them for just having a good time for once :D

In my honest opinion, Shark Tale is an enjoyable film. I saw this movie when it was released in theaters and had a great time too. It has a great cast, has plenty of funny moments, and has a pretty fun story too. Also, it’s nice to see people react to it as well. So, thank you for checking this one out, Timothee.🙂

Love this collab, also it's hilarious when you both realized Hans Zimmer did the music haha. This movie is a guilty pleasure of mine, I kind of still enjoy it but it's such a trip! It really did have an all star cast like even Martin Scorsese and Robert DeNiro involved, the sharks acting like Italian gangsters were hilarious. The early 2000's soundtrack still slaps and I prefer that music way more than today's music anyway.

When Oscar said "You can't handle the truth, you have shark breath" That was a reference to the movie with Tom Cruise named "A Few Good Men" it was a scene when Tom is playing an army attorney and in the middle of a witness giving a testimony he shouts "You can't handle the truth " Kind of like Amber Heard.

I am personally offened that you are constantly calling this movie bad. Its a great movie what about it is bad? The story? The acting? The cast? The world building? The animation? The representation? The message the plot? NO! NONE OF IT'S WAS BAD! Like the only "bad" thing about it is the puns. Regarding Smith winning an award on this, actually, he won best favorite voice actor, and so regarding the movie itself, visually, better be appreciated that exists because despite the quite dated cgi, it made a solid job of doing the cartoony cgi fish based on a celebrity when compared to what WB was trying to remake with Jim carrey Mr Limpet

I remember watching this movie on DVD, and there was game content, there was even a choreograph tutorial. It was for sure more fun than the actually movie hahaha. I used to lost a lot of referentes too cause I am not from USA, and didn't watch a lot of USA movies or listen to USA's music when I was 7 yo haha

I really don't care about the flak this film gets and how it's aged. I really loved it when I first saw it at 17 and I still really love it at 32, and shockingly, I enjoyed it more than Finding Nemo. Lenny is so precious and my absolute favorite in this film and one of my favorite characters in entertainment. So much so that I have a plush figure of him lol. Thank you so much Tim for reacting to one of my favorite animated films. :)

This was Dreamworks' first CG film made in-house at their Glendale facility. It wasn't made by the studio behind Antz and Shrek (which was based at Palo Alto)

Let me put it this way I love Smith I love black and I love their freaking chemistry in this. These 2 really are playing the h*** off each other. And I will even stand by the "whitefish" comment; what? I remember 90s Will Smith. Half his shtick was color jokes. I used to get in soooooooo much trouble quoting his movies, because... I don’t know why people think Lenny is gay just off of how he acts and how he dressed like a dolphin. He’s not gay he’s just innocent, trying to hide his true identity, and doesn’t like eating meat.

I remember liking this movie as a kid but kids are dumb haha I immediately thought of the chris rock thing 🤣 The early 2000s were a wild fun time If I could go back as an adult for a day that would be something 🦇

I must be a kid or dumb, because I still like this movie. a great funny movie it's not, but it still is funny to me. But then again, sometimes I like a stupid movie, just for entertainment. 😁

I used to watch this movie a lot when I was a kid. I still love it becuz it got me to recognize the cast when watching their movies. And also the references. Like the score from Jaws, I remember when I saw the movie was like "OMG the music was from Shark Tale.

Fun fact Orcas are actually dolphins, not whales, orcas aren't natruarrly predatorial to human but are curious sea mammals, dolphins has a habit of attacking sharks, orcas attacks sharks too

I remember when this first came out, me and my full family (me, my mum and dad, and my 4 older brothers) went to watch it at the cinema in Morecambe Bay, about halfway through the movie the fucking projector burned up, so everyone in the very packed cinema had to get a refund.

I love this movie, I remember watching it in the theater when I was a teenager, the only thing that disappointed me was listening to my Dad snoring through it, I am not kidding, he actually fell asleep in the theater snoring in front of everyone!!!!! That was the last time I went to the movies with my Dad 😏
