This was so awesome. "Dragonsong" was the first Anne McCaffrey book I ever read, and I loved it. The "Harper Hall" Trilogy is one that I can read over and over again.

Ooooo Dragonsong! You'll love it. My dad was a high school librarian and he would often recommend that for reluctant readers because it's a good story that just pulls you in. And if you want to go all the way, well, Anne McCaffrey was a very prolific author before she passed away.

I'm happy that these two did a cruise ship tour because they point out all the nerdy things I'm interested in. For example, automatic bathroom doors 😂

Mofongo recipe from my Puerto Rican mom: fry plantains in garlic and butter until the outside is barely crispy then use a mortar and pestal to mash the plantains with more garlic and bacon. They will be crispy and soft so they will take the shape of the bowl. Then you flip it over to get the dome shape. We eat it with Mayo-ketchup. Mix ketchup, mayo, and garlic to make a sauce to pour on it. We usually eat it with pork

You guys are so awesome. You didn’t have to do a vlog for us. Please promise us that on your 10th anniversary trip that you will just focus on yourselves and enjoy it together.

I'm glad you guys enjoyed your cruise. I personally will never go into a cruise because when I visit a country I like to explore it for at least 3 weeks. Also, what I'm about to say may be controversial but I have visited many countries in the South American continent like Argentina, Costa Rica, Puerto Rico, Bolivia, and Peru.. my opinion is that the best food is in Peru.

OMG, *Dragonsong*! That book was my *childhood*. It's probably the thing that sparked my obsession with dragons back in the day; it wouldn't be hard to draw a direct line from me getting that book to me owning a crested gecko today. That trilogy and the main Dragonriders of Pern trilogy were the books I brought with me to college to keep from getting lonely. Such fond memories - I hope you like it Emily!

you came to Puerto Rico!!!! so glad you enjoyed your vacays. Fried plantains are called Tostones, and you can eat them plain, or add some garlic sauce or ketchup or mayoketchup (best option). Mofongo is also made with plantains, you cut it in ~1 inch pieces, then you fry them until golden-brown, and then you mash them and add sides like chicken or shrimps in butter and garlic sauce.

Anne McAffrey's Pern books were a big part of my reading in middle and high school. I feel you may enjoy them. Dragonsong is one of my favorites of the series.

Emily! I highly recommend ALL of the Dragon Riders of Pern books, if you enjoy Dragonsong! Dragonsong is the first in the Harper Hall Trilogy, and it takes place alongside the first 3 Pern books (Dragonflight, Dragonquest, and The White Dragon). They're some of my favorite books I've ever read!

From the Dominican/Puerto Rican point of view: you peel, cut up and then fry green plantains, mash it together with garlic, peppers, meat, etc. and form a ball or half a sphere and serve with a broth. Every country puts its own influence on it, and every restaurant changes it or serves it differently. I tend to like the ones with lots of garlic, lots of chicharron (fried pork belly) and lots of broth (served separately so I can adjust how moist I want it to be).

OMG!!! I've been stuck on Anne McCaffrey's dragonriders of pern series since I was a teeenager! They are sooooo good! And Sragonsong is a good one to start on. It's the start of a trilogy.

As a boricua mofongo is very easy to make . Boil or fry plantains and once it's done and soft add pork rinds . I highly recommend going down to Puerto Rico during the winter because the weather is amazing.

Anne McCaffrey! Awesome author...You MUST read her Dragohriders of Pern series, soooooo good! The original trilogy: Dragonsong (1976), Dragonsinger (1977), Dragondrums (1979). There are several others, prequels, sequels etc. Very much worth the read.

Anne McCaffrey is one of my favorite authors. Her Dragon Riders trilogy is credited with popularizing dragons in fantasy, but she personally considered her books sci-fi. She is best known for her Pern books, so you need to look up the ones besides Dragonsong.
