The shot glass thing is a valid hack but they don't quite get it right. You heat the shot glass gently then put over the splinter. It creates a vacuum that pulls the splinter out.

My high school geometry teacher actually had a really great fix for broken flip flops (at least got me home a few times). You put the thing through the bottom of the flip flop and take a paper clip and puncture the plastic part with the paper clip. The paper clip stays flat, but you wind the plastic part through to the middle curve so it doesn’t fall off. You’ll click clack in them, but they’ll stay on your feet. He called the broken flip flops “a flat tire,” which is still my favorite term for when that happens.

The battery thing is pretty sketchy. You're cutting the voltage in half, so if the device turns on at all it's going to act spotty: reduced speed, range, brightness, range, power, etc and it's going to be reduced by a lot more than half. Maybe a select few very low power devices (a computer mouse isn't a terrible candidate) might behave normally with reduced life, but they'd have to have been designed with a pretty huge voltage range in mind.

I love how Kris really makes an effort to compliment all her viewers at the start of each video. Ur vids always put me in a good mood and has me re-watching them. You are providing a service and we salute you. Edit: I actually think I know how the splinter and shot glass hack works. By creating pressure on the area around the splinter, it creates a suction which sometimes is able to take the entire/part of the splinter from your wound. At least that is how I think it works. May be wrong. I have the 'Riley and Katrina' alarm and the 'Misha and Sergi' ringtone. ALSO pls do something Minecraft related.

As a board certified medical professional, I can confirm that that the hack with the splinter does work. You know when you put a cup over your mouth and inhaled as a child, so the cup stuck to your face as a child? This works in a similar way if you somehow remove 80% of the air, it will act as a suction to surface the splinter.

I like the make your own sandals/flipflops hack, that way you can customize your own look. In the Spring & Summer months, I wear flipflops in the house.

6:53 I've actually done a similar method when making clay figures. (I didn't know about 5 minute crafts around this time.) I filled some foil with sand and formed the clay around it, Mostly because I didn't want to knock it over and end up breaking it kinda like that vase in the video. :/ Of course you can't fill the whole thing with sand, But if it's the type of clay you need to cook, it will help it heat up faster. Just know to watch it carefully so it doesn't overcook.

I don’t know what it is, but over the years that I have been watching Kris, she has made me feel like I mean something to this world. And it still shocks me to this day that even though she has been through some rough times, she still tries to focus on making her fans feel better instead of herself. It’s amazing.
