What a cool adventure. Around here a 14" perch is huge. I've caught a few. Nice boat I have an 8' Walker Bay set up for trolling fly' s 120 feet behind me. That's how I catch the big ones and tons of weeds. Weeds or Fish it doesn't matter I get alot letting that last 10 meter's slowly and I'm already going dead slow. Puts a little life into my fly. Either way we're all jigging.

Yeah there’s no shortage of 14” perch around there, you’ll get absolutely plagued by them in summer time which is annoying!

Yeah thanks mate, generally kahawai are a warm water sports fish so pretty much the peak of summer time is when you want to do that!

Thanks mate, generally they taste of mud due to the environment they’re in. So if I’ll ever keep a fish it’s from a clear river or stream etc
