When you tie a uni loop knot you can make a long loop which gives you a double leader about an inch long protecting the leader a bit more than a single. Got that tip from Roland Martin. I won't fish a leader under 7.5 lbs. now. 8 or 10 works for me but I used to be mr. 2lb. test. I troll a long line and hit the throttle on the electric to full to take up the slack. This wakes the trout up and get runs to over 200 meters with jumps all the way with minimal drag after the hook set. Hope this helps you at some point.

I use a mixture between 1/40th and 1/6th all depends on what the depth of the water is and how fast it is flowing!
