Thank you. The thought was to do the makeover in one take, to show that it doesn’t need to take ages to weather your rolling stock. Hopefully it’ll inspire a few more to have a go

Great vid but always remember to wear eye protection when using a fibreglass pen. If the bits get in your eyes you are in big trouble.

Thanks Mike. I have quite a few of the TTA’s which are due to be repainted and liveried, but wanted to see what could be done with the standard plastic finish.

@@BuntersYard Be careful of splinters off that glass fibre brush, they can be nasty if you get one in your finger and difficult to see to get out.

With the fiberglass pens, I find if I keep the amount protruding very short, it works better with a firmer pressure. Nice job btw!

This is absolutely amazing. Just bought a rake of 15 tankers. What is the last bottle you use please....the grease/oil.

Thank you. It’s AK interactive Shaft & Axle Grease. They do lots of other shades - oil streaks, grime etc Good luck with your rake

@@BuntersYard thank you so much. I'm new to the hobby. Although done plastic model kits for years. Haven't got round to trying powders yet. What's the best thing to seal powders in... Would a matt varnish work well?

@Trucker340 yes, a Matt varnish. I now use AK Ultra Matte which is premixed and very matte indeed. First coat very light ( don’t wash the powders off 🥴) and then a second coat

If you had of used the oil paint white and faded the paint back would of made it look like it was sun beaten and the red had faded back

These hornby railroad range tank wagons are not great they are too easy to weather up no challenge to them
