I still don't get...we all know that the best option for the horse is to return barefoot then control the terrain and work load until the hoof is strong enough to return to work. These pad options always seem to end in long term disaster. It's time the farrier and veterinarian world speak out...stop the money train...and do what's best for the horse.

Barefoot is not always what's best for the horse.

my horse needed the pads for support after pedal bone rotation in one hoof, without them he was crippled, each horse is an individual case and needs to be treated as such, saying pads etc is all about money seems a very misunderstood view, and no bare foot is not always best either, we all do what is best for our horse!

Barefoot is best IMO because the horse needs to feel the terrain directly and accurately, and temporary shoe boots that can easily be put on and removed. Humans do well barefoot, too, but there is an adjustment period. Nutrition affects hoof and foot health along with regular exercise, and clean stall...Full time horseshoes don't make much sense to me...
