Ready to get started? Visit our website to learn more about Organ-on-a-Chip technology and how you can use them in your research: bit.ly/3Ot60jZ
Since the early 1900s, scientists have been using conventional 2D cell culture to study human biology and have made tremendous strides doing so. However, time has revealed that 2D cell culture’s artificial nature-including the use of cancerous cell lines, static microenvironments, and limited cellular complexity-inhibits its ability to accurately model human disease and predict human response to candidate drugs.
To address these challenges, Emulate Organ-Chips have been developed as an advanced cell culture technology to provide a more human-relevant system for disease research as well as drug discovery and development. These advanced in vitro models recreate the microenvironment cells experience inside the human body, more faithfully emulating human response compared to 2D cell culture.
In this #webinar, Luke Dimasi, Senior Director of Product Management at Emulate, provides an overview of Emulate Organ-on-a-Chip technology, its benefits compared to 2D cell culture, and data-driven examples of Organ-Chips’ improved physiological relevance.
Key learnings:
-How 3D cell culture compares to their 2D counterparts in human relevance, throughput, and more.
-Why Organ-Chips provide improved human relevance and massively expand study possibilities in disease research and drug discovery.
-How the Human Emulation System provides a complete Organ-on-a-Chip solution, allowing scientists of any Organ-Chip experience level to create advanced models across a wide variety of organs.
-Why Emulate Organ-Chips improve upon 2D cell culture by enabling precise control of mechanical forces, use of human-relevant cells, and greater expression of genes.
-How scientists can use Organ-Chips to assess a wider variety of clinically relevant endpoints.
