I do hope that you do a carb video serie. To see the idle master (you) tune and run the engine and see what happens. More rpm lower idle? Looking forward to that serie. Best regards from Sweden.

A test of those carbs would be neat. Once you get the mechanical linkage worked out on the dynamix, I found it to be a very good carb. I still have to go through my stash of webra carbs and tell you the various styles that I have. I definitely know a dynamix and a two needle modern style design are there.

Thanks for sharing your appreciated experience. Looking forward to the engine runs. I always got very good results with the dynamix carb although the design ist really exotic. Dynamix is my first choice when I want to check "new" engines (or let's say "unknown" if bought on eBay 😀) in case the original carb causes problems. The ASP carb is interesting as well. However, I have run the TN carb on some engines as well, which was ok but not tested it at low temperatures.

Mine came with the dynamix slide carb. I didn't like it and it looked to be very prone to damage so I ordered the normal style carb for it from the hobby shop right after I bought it around 1988. I still have it and ran it on my channel either last summer or the summer before. Still runs fantastic. Oh mine is the ABC version without a ring. You had the needles backwards on the TN carb. The one on the left that is pointy is the highspeed, the blunt one on the right is the idle mixture.

I just put NIB speed 61 with a dynamix carb on my 10cc Ultr Stick. Once i got the throttle arm adjusted correctly every was excellent.

At 10:21 I said the needles correctly but got mixed up after that. I assure you I know the difference in the needles.

I was a big fan of the Webra Dynamix carb. Works fantastic used it even on on Enya 60x with adapter. It’s just a nice piece of kit if you want a clean mixture from idle to wot. Only thing is the idle needle works opposite to the high speed needle. Turn it out idle is leaner and vice versa!

Love Webras, always have since 1999. I'll be putting a Speed 70 on my test stand very soon. Given that it's a "speed" and not a black head can you recommend a fuel and plug? I was thinking 10-15% fuel but not sure if i want a cold, medium or hot plug.

Well you say you have been running engines since 1999. How about simply doing what the Webra manual recommends? drive.google.com/drive/folders/1URXkXJelMdUuQOT0Ot06oKOGwDz_wTK5 You should never run a hot plug with high nitro fuel unless you desire to burn your engine up. Choosing a plug is not a matter of ‘want’ but what is necessary. Ninety percent of all two stroke engines will and always have, run fine on an OS #8 medium plug. Hot plugs such as the OS A3(#6) are best used with FAI (no nitro) fuel. My Webra Speed 91 ran great with FAI fuel.

@dmrcflyr2 should have been more specific, I ran them in 99 until 02 then took 20 years off. It's my understanding that if you run high % of nitro you run a cold plug, low nitro % you run a hot plug. Any truth to that? Thanks for sharing the link. My speed 61 was bough NIB last spring. I believe the manual is German but Ill check the box again.

I guess my first question is why run high nitro? What purpose does that serve? I never ran high nitro, meaning 15% or more, ever unless 15% was all that was available. I have proven hundreds of times on my channel that nearly all engines will run fine on 5% or even FAI fuel. So why spend the money on high nitro fuel? When I was flying I ran 10% all the time and OS #8 plugs. That worked for me and I stuck to that. When I run engines on the stand I experiment and change things up as evidenced from the nearly 2000 videos I have made. I have an entire playlist called the FAI Experiment where I run many types of engines on my home brew FAI fuel. @dmrcflyr2 i was told the speed line "requires" 10-15% nitro. Ive a few cases of 5% last year hope that my 60-90 engines would run on it. I was also told once upon a time, the larger the engine the lower the nitro content required. I'm not married to any of these ideas though.
