I'm a full-time professional Webtoon and Comic creator and I'll be reviewing viewer submitted comics and Webtoon Canvas. I will look at art, storytelling, lettering, etc. This is to try to help you learn how to get better at comics by giving an honest critique.

This video critique was requested by the creator. I don't offer unsolicited advice because I don't believe it is appropriate to force your opinions on someone you don't know, even if you have good intentions. Imagine walking up to a stranger on the street and saying "yellow's not your color."
I'm not going to focus much on anatomy and other aspects of drawing that simply require practice and time to learn. Saying "Draw better biceps" isn't super helpful. All artists are always and forever trying to draw better biceps.

Love your videos! Watching your stuff has really taught me a lot, but do you think you'll ever talk about tips/rules/etc for a normal comic layout instead of a webtoon? I've been wanting to make a short comic (that's not a webtoon layout) at some point but I'm not 100% sure on how to layout the pages

I will. A lot of the same rules apply, the only big difference being the amount of gutter space. You can also think of a page as a very mini-episode. So you should try to tell a small story on every page.

Hey Walter! I heard your good at advice, and the videos I watched of you shows it. I'm in a bit of a pickle. I have a webtoon title but another Canvas webtoon has the same title. Should I still use my initial title, or should I change it? It's hard because I think my initial title really suits my story. Thanks!

Yeah, that sucks. Sorry. You could keep your title and hope to "outlive" the other comic. However, if the other comic is actively posting new episodes, then it's a little not-cool to try to copy their name. If the comic has been on hiatus for several months, well...that's a different story. I would say, keep thinking about new titles while you're working on your webtoon and wait till you're closer to launching before you decide. I know it sucks, but also remember, the comic is going to make the title cool not the other way around.
