Just seeing her positive attitude during therapy, and how she responds to you and Grant is so sweet. You can tell that she is so loved by everyone in her life, and that she feels secure in herself. Those are HUGE wins!!🎉 It's also largely due to your hard work & diligence in doing her PT/OT etc & working with her 24-7-365. You two have set her up to achieve amazing things! Proud mama/daddy moments for sure!!❤ She is such a bright happy light in this world.✨️

oh my gosh her wiggling when she saw Grant, and seeing her light up just made me start crying. Also those clothes are all adorable. That's so sweet about the penguins. You can really see her personality coming out more and more. I can see a huge difference between this video and even your last one, or the ones before that. You all are putting in so so much hard work and you can absolutely tell how hard she is working too. Look at her turning the pages on that book! and standing!

It’s so nice to see you having big moments with Lucy! My two year old is autistic with global developmental delays and every new advancement feels so amazing. He has started saying Mama recently and I love you, things I thought would take so much longer for him to say, and it is the best feeling.

I can’t believe that I’ve been watching you for twelve years now. I was 16 watching you do big poofy Texas hair, and now I’m 28 and we’re both mothers and it’s just so crazy. Lucy is so precious. The little moments make all the tough days worth it.

Oh LeighAnn! Don’t diminish your excitement and joy for Lucy’s accomplishments! Even if they are small, they should still be celebrated! You’re an amazing mom and Lucy is an amazing little girl! As a new mama for almost 3 years (I still feel new hehe), I learned that comparison is a thief of celebrating the little moments and milestones. I’m a mama of twins and i spent almost the first year comparing them to each other, to other babies, it’s an overwhelming journey sometimes. I learned babies are resilient. And they will thrive in their own time and pace with love, support and encourage from you. If Lucy is sticking out hers arms at almost 2, I say HELL FREAKIN YEAH! Go Lucy!!!! Every step forward is a step forward. You’re doing great, mama!

I don’t always get to watch but the first thing I noticed was how strong Lucy is getting! She’s such a lovely little girl. ❤ As a veteran mom of 4 with no PT, no OT, no appointment filled weeks, and no stress and worry about tests and results, when I had toddlers, I was totally done by 8:30. Some days, weeks, seasons just need more rest time. ❤

I just wanted to say I completely understand those moments that may be small to others but huge to you. My son has autism and is on the severe side. He is nonverbal and has intense sensory sensitivities. Every time he masters something it makes me so happy!!!! Loved this vlog this week. Seen so many wonderfully happy moments and smiles!

I completely understand how the small victories can make you feel. My daughter has an issue that we haven't yet figured out but part of it she is low muscle toned and watching her take a step at almost 12 month was amazing! And seeing her actually step on the tiny tile in our bathroom was amazing. She has sensory issues as well. Congrats momma. We did IVF around same time as you. My baby is 19 months!

I'm usually a silent viewer, but I have been watching your channel for a long time. I also struggled with infertility for several years. Several years later, we had our son. My son was diagnosed with Autism level 3 at 18 months old. He's going to be two on the 29th, and he is still non-verbal. He goes to therapy three days a week, and he's still at a 6-month-old level. I completely understand how exciting it can be when your little one shows improvement, says a word, or totally surprises you. It definitely warms your heart and makes you feel proud. I know it can be really hard when you can't communicate with your child. I just keep praying for change and improvement. I'm praying for Lucy and you all, too.

I first have to comment that Lucy is so beautiful and her happiness lights up the room. My gosh she's such a cutie patootie. Most importantly I need to say how wonderful of a supermom you are , Leighann. Your love for your daughter is beautiful and your strength is one to be admired. You are so great with her and so attentive & I know as a mom you wouldn't have it any other way. I love you for loving your child in the way you do. And I am pretty sure that Grant is an excellent father. You both make for a wonderful team. Lastly, I need to ask how are your Lupus symptoms? I have lupus as well and there are days when I have no strength...how do you do it all & stay so upbeat? Please give Lucy a big hug for me and I hope you know how great you truly are. 💙💙💙

Fellow lupus patient AND special needs mom. Tired mid day- 100%! Therapies, doctors and in my case - care for an elderly declining parent- you somehow find the strength to keep pushing! You’re doing it with such grace and patience. Much more than I had had your stage of the game. Keep going- Lucy is thriving!

The little victories are actually the big ones, especially after intensive therapies. Starting the wheelchair process is a strange mix of relief and grief. Make sure to allow yourself grace to feel your feelings as you go through the process. The fun part is letting them pick their “super chair”’s colors (my son picked Captain America red/blue/silver). ❤️

That was a real treat. I get teary eyed when you talk about the ‘small’ victories, because I can only imagine how that would feel. It is so, so incredible to see Lucy’s hard work paying off. I missed your vlogs so so much!! You and Grant in the car with the visor had me laughing so hard. And then hearing you talk about Lucy's big moments and milestones had me feeling so emotional. I love seeing Lucy and all of the progress she is making. It does my heart good. I do so understand how exciting each step is in Lucy’s life. I have a granddaughter with a rare genetic disorder, too. It is just such a joy to watch them progress. I read on a food blog that the ready made polenta at Trader Joe’s is great. You can use it as is or if you want to you can heat and soften it with chicken broth.
