Here's how I have my Silver Star WeRoll setup for 110v and 12v initially. I plan to add a 12v fuse block and possibly an inverter and maybe solar in the future. The frame ground I mention actually acts to bond the ground back to the frame in case any wire in touches the frame anywhere. Your best real ground in an RV comes from the shore power ground. The 100ah LifePo4 battery I used is an Enjoybot brand (same as Chins and Ampere). Battle Born/BattleBorn is a good brand too according to reviews. You could also use a deep cycle lead acid battery but DO NOT put lead acid batteries in the cabin without a proper container that is vented, place those on the tongue outside as they out gas. This setup could work on any microcamper, teardrop, DIY, converted cargo trailer.

Thank you! I've had my weeroll just shy of two years and could never figure out why the 12v didn't work lol. Great info and much appreciated.

Glad I could help! Which model do you have? Are you a member of the WeeRoll Owners group on Facebook? I am also an admin of that.

@@SwimmingintheDeep I have the 6x12 with extra width. I've only taken it out a few times. It's rustic functioning only because I'm not really handy and it's hard to hire help where I live. I've thought about selling it but will give it one more try this year to turn it into what I had envisioned :) Yes, I'm a member.

Your work continues to be very helpful as I plan out our build. Have you been able to use the trailer for camping, and if so, how was the experience? I'd be interested in seeing how your A/C is installed and removed and knowing if this has been working well still. Also, what have you done to secure your refrigerator, battery, etc. to the trailer? Do you plan to install a sink system, built-in fans, heaters or other equipment? I'll stay tuned in to your updates. Thanks!

Hi Thomas, Yes, I've been out in it to a local campground with power and water hookups at a local lake. It was great. It stormed off and on those couple of days which was a great test for leaks and there were none. The AC worked great. The temp was 93 at times outside. I installed my air semi permanent as I don't anticipate taking it out. I live in Georgia where it will be needed for more than half my trips. I never tied down my batter, it stayed put but I will likely still do that. I bought a sink but have not yet installed it. I also recently bought a Wave 3 Camco propane heater and plan to install it soon. I'll try to get a video up of an overview of how I installed there AC and I plan to do one for the heater as well. Our kids' ages are older now so we are still on the go and we got the WeeRoll with the anticipation of mostly my wife and I using it in the years to come. That's why I have paced myself in customizations. That and winter is coming which is when I plan to do some bottom cabinet fronts under my built in counter. Will try for some new vids soon! Thanks for the comments.

@@SwimmingintheDeep Glad to learn that you're clearly pleased with your WeeRoll. I'll watch for new videos as you publish these. Especially interested in the A/C, and your heater project will be nice to see too. On the refrigerator, have you fastened it somehow? BTW, I've found a couple of sources for aluminum cabinet doors & filler panels (my guess is you already have too!) Here is a link to the one that I prefer at this point: www.midwestracecabinets.com/ Thanks!

@@ThomasUSofA Hi, I also considered Midwest race cabinets but they did not have anything that would specifically fit my already built counter top and they were pricy. On the fridge part...yes, I am using a taller dorm fridge and it fits under my counter top. You know how these fridges have extra screw holes at the top to change the hinge to the other side if desired? I leveraged those screwholes and had a bracket that fit in my junk. I could have bent a piece of flat aluminum to do the same...and screwed the bracket to a supporting post of my countertop. So it is attached at only one corner but I also added non slip pads to the feet of the fridge. It stayed in place great.

I like your setup. I see your 120 v panel is grounded to the trailer. How is the trailer grounded? Is the trailer's reference to ground through the stand when it's not hitched? Just curious. Thanks for the walkthrough. Well done sir.

Your ground is really supplied by shore power. You also want to bond back to the frame in case there's any kind of short circuit on the frame so it will flip the breaker so if a wire gets frayed from where it passes through the frame somewhere it will short circuit and put the breaker. This is really called bonding.

Does your vehicle charge the battery while driving?
@SwimmingintheDeep
@SwimmingintheDeep Жыл бұрын
I plan to do that but I'll need a DC to DC charger to do it correctly. I think they run about $100. It takes the DC current from your vehicle and isolates it then providing the input special requirements of lithium battery.

@@SwimmingintheDeep Thank you! Hope to have my WeeRoll soon and trying to figure it all out. I plan to do something similar to your setup. Maybe add solar to the mix.
