Just a quick word about my daughter’s personal journey with Ozempic, another semaglutide. She had been overweight since puberty, she lost some weight on Keto, then hit a plateau. She started taking Ozempic and gradually upped the dosage. She took it for approximately 2 years, got down to her ideal weight, stopped the Ozempic and has maintained her weight loss for the past ten months! She had no adverse reactions. Nobody should intend to take this medication forever, it’s a tool to assist your weight loss journey, not a magic wand!

It was inevitable. People used to it wholesome foods. Foods you could see by naked eye for what they are. Eggs, from your local farm market, meat from your local butcher, chicken, sausages, fresh vegetables and fruits. We used to know when they all come from. We used to buy cuts of meats from local butcher and mince it to make own mince meat for burgers or spagetti bolognese, etc. Now, we go to supermarket and we don't have idea where these products on the shelf come from. Looking at the labels , we see list of ingredients we have no idea what they are. We buy meat, but it's no longer just a meat. It says another dozen of ingredients on the label. We are all lab rats for all I care. No wonder we get sick, we get ill, we prematurely die of some strange and new diseases no-one heard before. This convenient food is killing us. We are like cows, being fed blindly by supermarkets selling us rubbish food for as much as they can get away with. They only care to produce food as cheap as they can get away with and with highest markup they can. This is our reality now...

Same. On keto, I now take zero medications. Down from over 10. My chronic back pain from an old injury is gone. I was on a pain patch for that. No more high cholesterol, BP, diabetes, depression, insomnia. My back injury pain required gabapentin, baclofen, and a pain patch to deliver 24-hour relief. I was so depressed from chronic pain I was on 3 anti-depressants, zolpidem and Xanax, my high blood pressure required 2 pills twice a day, and a statin, plus metformin for diabetes. Shall I go on? There's no way I am taking another fking pill. Keto is amazing. I cannot stress how much healthier I am, no more chronic inflammation that was killing me!!

I think ONLY the educated patient wants to get off of drugs! I have had several very good doctors but never once have I thought they were trying to get me off of a drug. I can never remember it being mentioned. One doctor put me on a heart med, then doubled it, then raised the dose yet again. Years later I had one of these good docs tell me I should never have been put that drug and why. (He is retired and 93, and is still educating himself). I see todays docs trying to fix the symptoms, not the problem!

I'd been on Ozempic for 5months and in that time I lost 56 lbs but did suffer quite badly with nausea, for this reason I wasn't able to increase my dose above 0.50 at any time. The effect it had on me was that I felt full MUCH quicker and I stayed full for a lot longer. Also a very interesting difference I found was that all my life I had a very sweet tooth, after first 2 months on Ozempic no longer craved or wanted or enjoyed sweet things, if I ate them I felt like "hmm yea that chocolate was ok but nothing special" which meant I no longer wanted it. I haven't been paid to take Ozempic, in fact as I'm in the U.K I had to pay for a private prescription (£130 for a 3 month prescription ) and then at the pharmacy I paid £86 for each pen (a pen lasts 4 weeks). Ozempic has changed my life, it's stopped my cravings for sweets & candy cakes etc and it has given me my life back

This is exactly what I was thinking while watching. If you’re obese, just cut the carbs, quit eating processed non-foods and dial your meals back to once or twice a day. Not only will you lose at least 16% of your body weight over the course of a year, it won’t cost $15,000 and, oh yeah, it won’t do God only knows what to your brain stem. It’s madness. Congratulations on your results!

For my entire life, even as a small child, I've been melancholic. I thought it was just part of who I was. Nothing major just a general sadness most of the time but there were a few weeks every year where I would fall into an actual depression. I remember 5-10 years old trying to go to sleep, staring into the darkness and my mind racing with thoughts about life and the universe. Why do we exist? What happens when we die? Is the universe an infinity of nothingness? Would it be worse to live forever or die? I'm sure most people can relate, and it did calm down as I moved into my 20's but only since going carnivore did I notice happiness and a general sense of being at ease sweep over me. Cure for depression? Ribeye steak!

I wasn't part of a trial and I've paid for every apt and prescription and thanks to Ozempic I'm down 56lbs. I'm 5ft 1inch and used to weigh 15st and I'm now down to 11st. Ozempic has given me my life back on many many levels including being able to drastically reduce my pain medication ( had to have 3 level lumbar spinal fusion so any extra weight I was carrying was putting a MASSIVE additional loading on the healthy disk above my fusion) when I had my surgery I weighed 9 st after surgery my weight crept up to 15st leaving me in near constant back pain to the point I rarely left the house. My pain mess have now been halved and I'm actually able to go for regular short walks to keep myself mobile. Ozempic has truly brought me from the brink of suicide (due to constant pain) to actually being able to live MY OWN life as I choose!! 👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻

I fast in the morning, take my injection at noon. Mostly meat dinner and then no snacks. I’m also morbidly obese and scared to die, I’m desperate and scared. Well, I am diabetic type two, and since three month I am getting treated with a semaglutide at a dosage of 0,5mg once a week. Not only did it cut my insuline intake in half, and brought my HBA1C down, it also completely changed, or better calmed my hunger. I already lost 9kg (about 20 pounds) and I have no problem to keep on doing intermittent fasting for 7 days a week. The first time in decades I actually can say "no" to food and have no problem around snacks and sweets, that other people carelessly put into my way. So, I think it may be lifechanging for a lot of people.

I take semaglutide (in Canada it's called Ozempic). I've been on it for over a year and have dropped 25 pounds. I only take 1mg per week, though. It also has heart benefits as well and as a stroke survivor, I am not complaining. It also helps to control blood sugars and my A1C is down to 6.5. I am very happy with this drug. Please don't misunderstand my enthusiasm. I also have made an effort to eat a healthy diet. After my stroke I developed an aneurysm at the top of my right leg due to the stent procedure I had. I had a partial blockage in my carotid artery. The surgery to repair my femoral artery and remove the aneurysm left me with permanent nerve damage in my leg. I don't move so well anymore as a result. I use a cane to get around. So in light of not being able to exercise properly this drug has had a great benefit to me. But I am only one individual, so take that for what it is.

I did lose 50lbs on keto and felt great too so they both work... but no matter way you choose to lose weight you need to develop a positive relationship with food and in my case be able have other ways of coping with tough emotions

I’ve been taking Ozempic for almost two months now (WeGovy under a different name according to my doctor). I’ve been struggling with disordered eating my entire life, which lead to me weighing in at my heaviest this year. The side effects are awful for some, while others experience none at all. I think it’s just a matter of weighing the pros and cons. For me, the pros have outweighed the cons (so far). I’ve been experiencing awful side effects since day one. Mostly nausea, vomiting, dizziness. But it’s also taken away my hunger, and not just because I’m nauseous! I never realized that it wasn’t normal to feel hungry literally all the time and to be constantly thinking about food. I thought everybody could eat until they were so full they could burst and then five minutes later be so hungry they could chew their own arm off. I figured I just had less self control or whatever. But I know that’s not normal now and holy shit, what a difference it makes! Do you know what I can do now? I can eat a cookie if I want to. ONE cookie. I’ve never been able to eat just one cookie. It’s always been, “Okay, I’ll just have one cookie” and next thing you know I’ve eaten a box of cookies and I’m crying in the pantry. But I don’t even crave cookies anymore. I’ve gone from looking at food as a hobby and comfort and look at it more as a fuel I guess now that I’m not constantly thinking about it. So for that reason alone the risks were worth it for me. I can’t say whether that’ll be the case in the long run, But for now I’m happy with it and down 37.6lbs! I do know that it’s not a magic cure though. So I think that’s something people really need to know going into it. I feel like it’s essentially set me back to default settings so I can eat proper portions and just not always be hungry with the added not so great bonus of barfing lol

When I weighed at the doctor's office and saw a weight loss if if 17 pounds after one month, I became so emotional and literally cried tears of joy and now two weeks later at a 20 lb weight loss for the first time in 30 years! YES.... I hear you I had 1 cookie and it was even meh...I got nothing euphoric from it. it was fabulous. It's like food now has no power over me. It gives me control back. so I'm going to get completely off sugar and learn portion control. I will purge all the sugar and carbs from my body and eat keto and learn while I have this tool. I thought long and hard and was like nope...but so many are having success. so I figured I'd try. it's crazy. my brain is like rewired. 👍

I'm finding however that certain meat makes me sick. Cut out the fake crap and your body will adjust very quickly to show you what your body does and does not process.

I'm on a similar study trial for another company for a dual GLP-1 & GIP agonist and have lost 76 lbs (27% of my starting weight) so far in 9 months. Many people on here advocating for keto, and I applaud you, its great if you can keep to it. I have tried keto diets as well and lost weight for a while, but it takes too much preparation and time to stick with long term. At least for me. This type of drug has completely knocked down my appetite. I don't fixate on food, snack, or even crave food the way I used to. Stop drinking sodas. Easy. I don't even crave them the way I used to. Stop eating junk food. No prob. Even when I do have take out, it doesn't trigger my pleasure sensations the way it used to, and I am full after eating less than half of what I would used to eat in one sitting. This helps take your brain out of the equation and lets you focus on a better, more complete diet. One of the best decisions I've ever made was to get on this study. Hopefully over time the cost will come down and more insurances will cover the program.

There are other situations as well, that can stop people from being able to afford healthier diets. You should see what some food banks offer people. There's so much stacked against the people in general by companies and our governments, that as a whole, we need to stand up and say enough.

Dr. Berry, I really enjoy your videos so much. I know that coming from a physician that the information is exact and well researched. I’m trying so hard, but not to too hard, because of my disability. See, I’ve had a brain aneurysm/stroke in 2010 so I have problems with balance so I walk with a cane. My memory is a little blurry at times especially to the things in the past. I’ve lost 6 pounds but been on this half way for about a month. I can handle the intermittent fasting but I’m not eating the meat 🥩 that I should on a carnivore diet. I had an EGD a couple weeks ago which showed terrible irritation in my esophagus and stomach- the dr put me on proton pump inhibitors thus took me off my Pepcid 40mg BID. It has been difficult to swallow steak and meats so I’ve been eating soups which hasn’t contributed to my weight loss. Do you have any suggestions for me on what to do? What to eat that would not be so irritating to my gut/esophagus? I would appreciate it so much 🌺🌺🌺 I appreciate all your hard work - I worked for 26 years as a ICU RN. I miss it.

I started taking Semaglutide 1 week ago & today was my second dose. I have suffered from a few of the side effects - mainly nausea. Overall I am pleased with this drug. I do feel that there is a strong chance that the effects will wear off. So I am using this as a strong spring board to get me back on track. I have begun a proper diet when I started taking the medication. I feel in the next few days I will be ready & plan on incorporating exercise. My observation on Semaglutide is that there is a bigger correlation with blood sugar levels in my system and how I eat than I thought. Seems like blood sugar levels effect my thoughts more than I thought.

He initially thought he lost the weight on his own with low carb eating, but now with all the talk about these types of drugs he realizes it has helped… a lot.

I actually just started Wegovy today, I have PCOS & insulin resistance & it’s extremely hard for me to lose weight. I’ve been doing keto & exercising 5x a week for an hour with a trainer for 3 months and have only lost 8 pounds, my doctor has determined it’s because of my PCOS and insulin resistance and recommended I try wegovy. Aside from being overweight, I’m pretty healthy. I’m hoping it will help with my insulin resistance which will in turn help the keto and exercise do what it’s supposed to do! Trust me, I don’t want to be dependent on a drug that probably won’t do much in the long run but line big pharma’s pockets, but if it will help me stop feeling like everything I do to lose weight is pointless & help me get a head start to keep on going on this journey, I’m willing to try it!

@@LuvHonesti It was amazing. It reversed my insulin resistance, I lost 50 pounds, and got pregnant and now have a 1.5 month old. I'm currently 6 weeks post partum and not even on wegovy anymore, and I've lost 30 pounds already of my baby weight just from working out. I was always told I would not have kids of my own due to PCOS, and I had tried for a while before Wegovy & never could get pregnant. A few months on it, and I lost weight & ended up pregnant. Wegovy was the best decision I ever made for myself & my health.

Glad someone finally say the truth. I'm on the waiting list with NHS in England for the Bariatric Surgery, I'm 49, perimenopausal, diagnosed with hyperinsulinemia when I was 19 (at that time keto and If weren't of this planet, even now most doctors/nutritionists are ignorant about it). So my bariatric Dietitian (she call herself dietitian/nutritionist) call me every 3 months during the stage of the process of waiting for the surgery. Last time, at the beginning of June, I've told 3 that I was finally keeping my weight under control and loosing even some kilos doing "low carbs" (didn't mention the word keto or high fat, they don't have any knowledge about it). So she was pleased with the results, 6kg less in 1 month and half, than she suggested me to get an appointment with this "famous" doc that is the "only one who can prescribe Saxenda". Didn't know anything about it so she said that has something to do with the hormones into the stomach that can stop cravings. I've accepted the appointment just to understand more. Than I've googled saxenda and turns out this: Saxenda main component is " Liraglutide, sold under the brand name Victoza among others, is an anti-diabetic medication used to treat type 2 diabetes, obesity, and chronic weight management. In diabetes it is a less preferred agent compared to metformin. Its effects on long-term health outcomes like heart disease and life expectancy are unclear And than this.... Consider liraglutide, an injectable drug that works in part by helping the pancreas produce more insulin. The drug also suppresses appetite by fooling the brain into thinking the stomach is full. Liraglutide is the generic name for Saxenda, which was approved for obesity in December. It is merely a higher dose of Victoza, a drug that has been marketed since 2010 for type 2 diabetes. As a diabetes drug, Victoza was the primary suspect in 348 deaths and more than 3,100 hospitalizations through June 2014, according to the most recently available FDA data. At least 100 of those reported deaths were linked to pancreatic cancer.... With the approval of higher-dose Saxenda, the FDA doubled down on its confidence in the drug's safety. It has a 3-mg daily dose, compared with 1.2 mg or 1.8 mg for Victoza. The labels for both drugs also warn patients to stop using the drugs promptly if pancreatitis is suspected. That's what Tom LaRosa did last August when a blood test showed possible inflammation of his pancreas, said his wife, Sandy. The test was done because he had been having stomach problems, which can be a warning sign of pancreatic cancer. So.... The ignorance of GPS and so called nutritionist is scaring, they can life.

I’ve taken Ozempic for 2 1/2 years. I had terrible gastroparesis, but it worked for controlling my diabetes so I stuck with it. I lost 50 pounds. At the 2 year mark I suddenly started getting my ability to taste back, my stomach stopped hurting if I ate too much food (which wasn’t very much) and spicy foods stopped causing me agony. I gained back 30 pounds. It’s great as a diabetes treatment, but I wouldn’t rely on it to lose weight long term.

Good review 💕 It’s clear there is no weightloss procedure that is permanent, not even the surgeries. Agreed we will have two categories of people and I think to combat that will be requirements in place for dietitians and therapy. One significant takeaway for obese PEOPLE (one side of the coin) is they need help kickstarting weightloss and a new way of life to make better decisions! This drug appears to help with that jumpstart. Additionally the cost of the drug is not a downside of the drug but a downside of health insurance in the US. The fda approves all this crap food then make insurance for us to prevent the dangers of eating it

3:12 Yes, that is exactly my experience with daily semaglutide (Victoza). Combined with gym and keto, I lost 40 lbs initially (2 years ago). It stopped working after about 12 weeks. I've tried it a couple of times since with initial benefit, but stops after about 8 weeks. Seems like keto and IF are better long term. 10:30 The key to eliminating side effects with semaglutide is to not overeat at any one meal. Semaglutide slows gastric emptying, and it raises hell if a meal is too large. It took one episode for me to learn that lesson; zero side effects after I slowed down a bit.
@TheMerkur11

Victoza (Liraglutide= quite similar to semaglutide) is aimed at Type-2 diabetics to help them avoid being dependent on Insulin and does actually quite a good job. Weight loss is only a side effect. What they did here is that they upped the dosage so that the side effect becomes the main effect.

First of all, I love all your videos and all the info you have been sharing with all of us. I've been working with my mom who has T2 diabetes and have directed her to this youtube channel to get some good info. That being said, unless you are saying what you are about pharmaceutical companies to stay on youtube, I think you are being naive that these corporations are being ethical in how these studies are being done. I think there are some within the corporations that are ethical, or at least think they are and are truly trying, but the corporations themselves absolutely know what they are doing and are definitely manipulating these studies to show what they want to sell their drugs.
